The cost and availability is the downside! Those things are at least twice the price of a cc and they aren’t particularly easy to find.
Actually, I’ve got a second Try-All (heavily worn) if you want to give it a try on your KH. I haven’t tried out the Creepy Crawler, so I’m not sure how they compare with handling or weight.
Try-All went out of business. There were part of Koxx brand, which tanked a couple moths back. So they’re not gonna get any easier to find, unless someone else picks up the brand and runs with it.
The TA Sticky’s are directional (ramped and shaped knobs), which will give them the feeling of being “lighter” via less rolling resistance. Creepy Crawlers and Monty Eagle Claws are simple block treads, which have a higher rolling resistance and thus can feel heavier. The weights of the tires are pretty comparable, so I doubt simply mass would account for one feeling lighter than another.
I have an Eagle Claw on my Impact and really like it. In fact, when the Try-All’s on my mod trials bike are done, I think I’ll replace them with the Monty’s. Fantastic grip. They do wear somewhat quickly, however.
the actual weight difference is about 181g according to the link bellow:)
the weights are quite similar the lightest i have seen is the Monty Eagle claw pro race all tyres in question can be seen in the link below which shows their weights and stuff.
personally a few hundred grams i don’t think would make that big a difference but i have never rode with anything other than the maxxis creepy crawler or the monty eagle claw and i much prefer the monty eagle claw
if i had loads of money i would buy them all and decide for myself which i liked best but i dont so i am happy with the Monty eagle claw ![]()
I hope this helps,

Good to know. Thanks all.
I will let my CCs wear down then try the Eagle Claw.
It’s prob from several parts:
TR pedals are pretty light (332 g),
Tensiles (140mm) are a fair amount lighter than Moments [410 g vs 612 g (the newer KH’s are lighter)]
lighter tire w/ the directional tread
the cut foam of the seat would save a few grams
and he may be using a thinner/smaller tube than you.
