I want one of these!

What a great toy.

That’s crazy, I want one too!

I want that to! I definitely want to fly like she does! :astonished: But if u go outside and there is windy, it can blow you away…

That looks relatively useless… Plus, when you’re using it, it probably feels about the same as if someone was swinging you around in a harness, which is much cheaper than an airship full of helium.

BUT CAN YOU CATCH ON FIRE??? NO!

where’s the fun in that then?

I suppose that’s why all of the hydrogen airships mixed oxygen in, despite its density being very close to that of air?

They didn’t just want them to burn, they wanted them to EXPLODE:D

I think you answered your own question. Didn’t they say helium? If not, I don’t think I’d want to do it either.

Otherwise, I’d love to try one. Unfortunately it’s not practical as you can only do it indoors. Take it outside and the slightest breeze would probably be more than you could counteract with arm power. You would need a motor for that, and then a bigger envelope to support the weight of the motor and fuel/batteries, then more power to compensate for the bigger “sail” effect of the bigger envelope, etc.

They use a radio controlled blimp at the Sacramento Kings games, in our case dropping gift cards for Best Buy or advertising Mountain Dew. It’s radio controlled and very maneuverable. Again, indoors only. In free air it would be as steerable as a soap bubble.

Looks fun, but indoor only makes it pretty useless.
I like this jet wing better, it allows for speeds up to 200km/h and must be very exciting… This Swiss guy Yves Rossy actually crossed the English channel with his wing. There are a couple of Youtube videos about him and his invention. Here’s one that kind of sums it up but the music is terrible, so turn down the volume.

I would like to flap around in that ballon thing

It looks like fun, and good exercise. I don’t see the idea as being much less practical than a gym, something lot’s of people buy. And it’s new and is more fun than normal sweating, a traditional draw.

Perhaps stadiums could be rented out mid week, and used to rent these things. It looks like a fun way to spend an afternoon to me.

I can also imagine that a leg powered “wing or propeller thing” might be added. After all, people don’t have their big muscles in their chest, so our wings would work stronger if powered with our legs.

Who would have thought that filling stadiums at enormous cost full of dirt just to run a super cross race would be profitable ? Just because it costs some $ to rig up a net over the top of the stadium doesn’t mean anything.

I bet thousands of people, who already think nothing of spending 1000’s of $ on their season seats, will be willing to spend some cash on “fly around the field day”.

Kind of like the old time roller rinks, I can see big crowds of huffing people-birds circling stadiums all around the world, like the old time skating rinks.

Yeah, and I want a harem.

Since when can one post a thread to grant his wish?

Your weird

My weird? Really? You’re giving me something called a “weird?”

Awesome. Where is it? Do I get a harem too?

Weird is a Norse concept similar to fate. Often but not always spelled “wyrd”.

word.
