Helium Balloons Carry Man in Lawn Chair 193 Miles

This reminds me of the story of Larry Walters. dubious source. It is a story I have used in sermons many times. After flying in a lawn chair hooked to 45 weather balloons, being spotted by an aircraft at 10,00 feet and being fined $1500 US, he was asked why he did it. He responded, “Sometimes you cant just sit there.”

I can relate.

Since when did they outlaw flying in your lawn chair??!

Land of the FREE!!!

Billy, you just don’t understand. People are inherently stupid. Why else would there be so many unfortunate accidents in this world? If people are truly free, they run the risk of injuring themselves, or even worse, offending someone. The Government needs to take care of everyone and make sure they live nice, safe, lives. That’s real happiness.

That better be sarcasm. I think it is. I base this off of stuff I have read Alex posted before. I feel like a crime scene detective.

I think it just depends where you fly it. Like around airports, in major air traffic lanes, etc. Share the air!

Yes, it was sarcasm to the extreme.

Ha I was right case closed :sunglasses: . I’m going on break.

I can see it now, the price of lawn chairs is going to go up, (no pun intentended) because they will have to carry a new warning label that states that this chair is not meant to carry humans aloft.

It will also bring out a chair designed just for the purpose of helium ballooning. Then there will be sponsorship…

And then a larger version with several chairs will appear.

SPOT ON!
