Today we have a group of our circus kids riding in the Redlands Bicycle Classic’s public races. I’ll post pictures of it when I get a chance.
Here’s some shots of the kids at the race today.
Very cool. I’m guessing the unicycles rode a (much) shorter course than the bikes?
It’s always cool to be able to spotlight unicycling in such a cyclist-friendly environment! I hope we get to see/do more of that!
They were only supposed to ride 100 yards, but the younger kids went first and didn’t understand where they were to stop and kept on riding. So the older kids followed to make sure they were all okay and they ended up doing the regular kids cycling course which was .65 miles around downtown.
Wow, .65 miles! Or about a kilometer. I still find it amusing how people think 100m will be a struggle and that 1000m is probably out of the question for kids on unicycles.
A reminder to anyone organizing unicycle events within larger bicycle events; don’t let the organizers underestimate a course length for you!
