Thank you for the recommendation:)

What are your experience With the expensive mad4One leather saddle?

https://unaruota.com/ZC/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1245

Its a lot wider between the legs than other saddles and secondly if I stand up to hop, when I go to sit back down the saddle often has moved backwards so I am sitting really close to the handle and I have to specifically pull the handle forward so that I am sitting on the back part of the saddle again. I don’t know if this problem is just due to how I set it up, I would like to know if other people have this problem or not.

are you overall satisfied? or do you find other saddles more comfortable?

The KH adjustable seatpost seems to be hard to find. I was only able to find it in stock in South Africa  https://oddwheel.co.za/shop/unicycle-components/seatposts/kris-holm-adjustable/ I know someone living down there so I’m considering if I should have them buy me two seatposts and ship to Europe. But it seems cumbersome and expensive (shipping +custom fees).

I like the KH Fusion Freeride the best so far, i suppose followed by KH Fusion Street and QX Eleven. QX Eleven and KH Fusion Street I didn’t like too much initally (Less soft than Fusion Freeride because there is less cushioning) but I have come to like them.

I have a KH one, can’t really comment on that yet as I haven’t ridden it much. The seatpost required for this saddle is different and I don’t want to cut it unnecessary (i’m not too tall).

Nimbus gel saddles (you can’t buy them new anymore) are ok for me, except I tend to get some pain if I have been riding it a long time. (Maybe over an hour).

I suppose if I get rid of the seat falling back issue, I like the M41 Saddle handle, I’d use it for muni, I have the short version, I like the handle being close in and super strong, with the brake placed in between the loop, in the ideal area reachable from the handle for me. I feel that’s the ideal setup for my muni riding in terms of brake and handle.

I’d try the unicycle.com shop in Australia too. Problem might be shipping though.

Have you tried altering the angle of the saddle. Seems like something that a more nose up angle could maybe resolve.

Personally I like the M4O Handle Saddle but I feel its slightly to wide at the front to be optimal. In theat regard the KH Fusion One is better/slimmer.

My saddles are a worse nimbus - hate it!, the QX eleven and the KH Fusion Freeride. I think I like the Freeride the most. Are there many differences between the Freeride and the Mad4one? And how many different types of saddles mad4one do have ?

Try adding a few small washers between the front of the seat post and the saddle. It makes a world of difference and even allows you to ride hands free. I’ve been riding with mine shimmed up for several months now and have seen no signs of damage or premature wear because of it.

They are very different. Kh freeride (that I also have on one of my Unis) is very soft and banana shaped and works great hands free. The M4O Handle Saddle is a lot firmer but the biggest difference is that it’s almost complete flat and quite short. It is best suited for riding with a hand on the saddle for the entire ride.

Is the saddle then rather hard and uncomfortable? or just not to compare? I really like the soft feel of the KH freeride and much harder saddles are not my thing. however, I would like to buy myself a handle bar in the long run for my new second muni, the 27.5er, with mad4one that would be part of it….

It’s firmer than a freeride but softer than a qx eleven (that I also own). But the M4O is a complete different kind of saddle so in my opinion Its not really possible to compare them. I think you will need to try it out yourself :sunglasses:

The handle saddle is excellent in many ways. From a male perspective, it doesn’t squash your anatomy if you sit on it wrong. Doing muni I find that it is quite comfortable. On the street however I find it uncomfortable after about 3km. The difference being that when I ride muni I’m constantly getting up out of the saddle and when I’m riding on the road my weight is supported by it for long periods of time.

IMO the handle itself is a huge improvement over the grab handle on the front of most saddles. You can get a really solid grip on it with either hand or hold it with both hands like a small handlebar. For out of the saddle climbing I find that grabbing it at the very front works best as it seems to keep me better balanced.

A loop style handlebar also has less of a tendency to injure you when you fall on it or it falls on you.

So far I’ve tried three varieties of handle saddle, medium, large and trials. For most muni I would want either a medium or small so that I’d be able to stand and climb while grabbing the front of the saddle. I’ve got the large on my 36er and the front of that is simply too far forward to make that practical. The large does allow you to use the loop better with both hands however and for road riding it would be the one I’d want.

The trials version is excellent if you’re not actually riding it any distance. You can get a rock solid grip on just about any part of it, but the padding is almost nonexistent and you’re pretty much sitting on the handle itself.

Agree and also your comment about comfort. It works best for Muni where you are not constantly in the saddle.
@Anne_unicycle also be aware that you can attach the M4O extension / ursli bar to many standard saddles and get a mix of both worlds.

I think it’s actually too soft for comfort on long road rides. A really cushy saddle will press against your soft tissues as well as your sit bones. They feel really comfy for about 10 minutes and then you notice the pressure where it shouldn’t be.

I’ve been meaning to attach a sprung leather saddle to it and see how that works.
