Hi!

I’ve created an image-focused experimental plugin.

It adds a gallery view to each post. The gallery contains all the pictures from the topic (as long as the current user has access to them).

The goal of this plugin is to be able to browse the content of image-heavy topics like Gallery - Pictures of your latest ride continued - Unicyclist.com without the regular topic interface getting in the way.

Believe it or not, many years ago, on the old version of the forum, I spent many evenings looking at ALL the pictures of this topic and its predecessors

It uses the regular posts’ neat image browser.
Galleries can be filtered by username and date.

When moving the cursor over a thumbnail, a background appears on other thumbnails from the same post.

To access a topic’s gallery, click the icon below the timeline:

There’s also a gallery button below each post. Clicking this button opens the gallery, but the images start from this post.

Known bugs:

• It shows embedded links’ favicons and thumbnails (oneboxes) in the gallery; it shouldn’t.

The plugin is currently enabled only for registered members. Visitors can’t see the galleries.

Are those two buttons doing the same?

Yeah, like the reply or notification buttons. The bottom button is mostly there because when you scroll to the very end of a topic, the buttons below the timeline disappear.

Talking about galleries there are new features since the january update of the forum software. “Grid”, which lets you create a gallery of the images you just uploaded (click on the image and notice the “add to Grid” button) has been improved, especially if you use the WYSIWYG text editor:

And you can decide to turn your gallery into a carrousel with the button at the top right of the grid. And I’m not sure what it could be useful for. Suggestions welcome!

Hi, just to let you know that I have re-enabled the plugin for registered members after disabling it for a week.

There are not many changes, mostly bug fixes.

Also, you can swipe pictures indefinitely, as new pictures will be automatically loaded and appended.
Great if you want to just enjoy the 4000 pictures from Gallery - Pictures of your latest ride continued - Unicyclist.com without any break!
