drivers test

im going for my drivers today and i was wondering if anyone had any pointers or stuff to look out for from there expiriences?

dont bring a car that smells.

im getting my permit next month.bam

Good luck, and dont act nervous…they sence fear. they are like dogs. >:o they are sick bastards. unless your like the first person, or have the test later…then your fine, they are like…psshhhh…ill pass you if you ram into a guard rail. because they are sick like that. >:o although this is only what i hear from them…i only have my permit

Take a deep breath and keep it between the sidewalks.

You’ll do fine.

right side gas, left side brake

Bribe the tester with Budwiser.

Thats the worst idea ive ever heard…do that if you want to fail. You have to bribe him/her with some chimay or some orval! we are not heathens here!

seriously though if you want to pass, drive aggressively and yell A LOT, be sure to curse a lot too. hope it works out for you.

I don’t know about the dogs thing, but they do sense fear. A fearful driver is not a smooth driver. Relax.

The inspectors don’t “pass you” or “fail you.” You take the test, they watch. You pass, or you fail. It’s not about them. Their job is simple. Don’t release you onto the streets if you’re not real solid in the test.

For most people, once they pass their driving test they consider their learning process over. This is why it’s real important you don’t make mistakes on your test, especially dangerous ones.

Examples of dangerous mistakes:

  • Pulling away from curb at start of test without turning your head to check your blind spot. Instant fail on the NY tests I used to watch.
  • Backing up without turning your head around behind you first.
  • Pretty much doing anything without looking first. This is the most common reason to fail.

If your test doesn’t involve backing up, it’s not a real test. If your test is not given on real roads with real drivers in other vehicles, it’s not a real test. This used to be the case in New Jersey and Florida. Explains a lot, eh?

Good luck on your test! Drive with confidence. If you appear comfortable and competent, you’re already halfway there. Then when you pass, remember you have graduated to being a beginner driver. Over the next few years you have the chance to become a “good” one, if you keep your mind on what you’re doing, being responsible to your passengers and the other people on the road with you.

(I worked for a driving school on Long Island for 3.5 years, teaching in-car, in-classroom, and motorcycles)

Good luck, Drew. Keep both hands on the wheel, don’t whistle at any female passersby (or male either, I guess), and don’t flip off any of those slow, white-haired drivers (wait until after you have passed to do that).

Yeah looks like a monk turning in his grave. LOL.

I was going to change it for Easter to what is below, but it was too large:

keep the radio off
leave your sunglasses off (no matter how bright it is)
and follow the traffic rules.

apparntly going too fast is better then too slow.

jethro is a wierd, old, probably hairy, man who needs a reality check.

That is what my barber/psychologist said too. I won’t be going back to him.

Do you cut hair?

Always use two hands. Do not do the one handed turn thing its bad. Use seatbelts and ask the tester too if he/she doesnt put one on. Thats about all the seirous things I can add. Oh yeah and smile for the picture.

I PASSED!! i got six marks off and i neede to get under ten to pass

Congratulations. I take mine in June so i hope to also pass.

good job!
Now, drive safe!

Congratulations Drewation. Welcome to the world of auto insurance premiums!
