Anybody have some good instructional sites for Devil sticks? Apparently diablo, juggling, spinning plates, card tricks and unicycling isn’t enough for my kid. Any help would be appreciated. tanks!

Devil Sticks are my favorite form of juggling. I use my Lunastix all the time. That and gyrorings.

What would you like to know? I am pretty good with them I can do pretty much any trick I want, I should be able to help you out.
He’s trying to do ‘the propeller’ and the stick goes spiraling out of control. I was hoping someone would know of a site like the various juggling sites where the action is slowed down. This way he would be able to see where and when the stick is being hit.

The propeller is simply a catch and throw that is done quickly. Have him practice catching and throwing the stick as it spins in one direction. Eventually the throws will get smaller and smaller and it will have the illusion of spinning. The contact point is just to the side of the center of the stick for a proper spin, and you slide out to slow it down or speed it up.
That’s devil stick instructions, of course. Flower stick spinning is easier 'cause they’re so sticky and slow. 
I don’t even think of the two as the same prop. You can do different things with them and the style is generally different as well. Flower sticking is more of a dance, and devil sticking is more of a high energy juggle.

Seager I would definatly agree with you on the two sticks being totaly different. I didn’t believe that until I got my fire devil stick and after only using flower sticks of various weights and speeds, it was a huge learning curve before I was ready to light up.
Okay friends, David Blaine is a cheap rip-off magician most of his crap can be bought on magic sights like that dumb quarter bite trick and that cell phone thing…and don’t give that “Criss Angel worships the devil crap”. David Blaine levitates about a foot and a half which is a little too high to think it’s all just an illusion but criss angel does it on buildings and stuff which makes me think it’s all just fake.Who thinks Criss Angel is way better than David Blaine?
Tell us again after you’ve used those tricks on your own TV special. He wasn’t the first.
Obviously Criss Angel. He has a TV series, and David Blaine only gets TV specials. By the rules of Hollywood, Angel is the clear winner.
Uh, the higher levitation is fake therefore the lower one must be real? ALL magic is just fake. There’s a ton of skill involved in sleight of hand, misdirection and the many other techniques good magicians master. But if you believe David Blaine is actually levitating I’ve got some horoscope information to sell you… 
Oh. Was this a thread about devil sticks? Oh yeah. Short advice on the propeller: It speeds out of control because it’s fun to make it go fast. To keep it under control, learn to spin it slowly. That means don’t go quite so close to the center. Once you figure out how to slow it back down, you’ll be able to keep it going indefinitely. Then you can work on the helicopter!
