Best Video Editing Software For Windows 2000??

I want to edit some uni vids but I’ve got windows 2000 and most video editing software seems to require atleast windows XP.

I think windows movie maker 1.0 is for windows 2000 but I can’t find a download anywhere.

So what is a good user friendly program that runs on windows 2000?

Thanks

windows movie maker is horrible, not user friendly at all
just so you know

And where is your evidence of that?

Everybody knows that…

It keeps crashing and stuff like that.

Personal experience.

It never ever crashes on vista. Although, were talking about windows 2000, two operating systems ago.

It crashes a lot, but its very user friendly.

mine has crashed a few times, it just doensnt play it, so i cannot cheak it, and i have vista. wmm is easy to use, but it is not great at all.

I use video edit magic for 2000. Not amazing to say the least, but it does the job.

I hear Adobe Premiere is top-notch. Wasn’t he asking for best?

I’m big fan of Sony Vegas.

Check out MPEG Video Wizard from Womble Multimedia.

They have two versions ($69 and $99 edit: USD) depending on whether you want the DVD authoring part.

I can’t say how good it is (my friend recommended it to me, but I haven’t tried it yet), but it works on Windows 2000. You can download a fully-functioning trial version.

Yeah, adobe premiere cs3 pro is pretty awesome. I own and run it. Its a pretty confusing program at first, but its also pretty cool, good choices and options for things.

edit: and my sony vegas doesnt work on my comp. Plus the fact i think adobe cs3 is far more expensive last time i checked.

re-edit: yeah, adobe is probably the best, but also the most expensive. Its $800-$900 i thought…

Might look into that. Is it free?

I think Adobe Premiere is for windows xp although some older versions might work on 2000. But I don’t really want to be spending hundreds when that money could be spent on unicycle parts.

not for me it isnt, i have to keep making new collections for each new video that gets spliced into it, otherwise it gets rid of the existing one in the collection and replaces it with the new one

It sounds liek WMM doesn’t run on windows 2000 anyway so everyone can stop the debate about it.
