Autumn riding

So I haven’t unicycled for the last 5 weeks; and another 3 weeks to wait (at least!). That’s a shame, after all autumn is a great time for unicycling… :uni2: Oh well, patience is said to be a virtue.

I also love autum for muni, there is nothing as fun as riding and sliding in the mud, then going back home covered in mud, water, dirt, sweat and leaves. The long warm shower you take afterwards is the best in your entire life, and you can eat warm autumn/winter meals.

But for road riding, it is way less enjoyable, going back home wet and miserable, exhausted and frozen is really not my favourite thing in life.

Today is a bit stormy and now the sun shines. Can’t wait to be off work and see if I can fight the wind. Head- and backwinds are ok, but side winds are tricky. No doubt I will enjoy myself. Also you can just dress against the cold. riding uni takes a lot of energy and you’ll be warm in no time.

There is no bad weather, only bad clothes. Get the right ones and you’ll find it fun to ride on the road during the winter!
(I remember a ride last year when I wasn’t feeling my toes and fingers anymore because of the cold… Why did I try to cross mountains during winter??)

Luckily I have other interests as well, like playing Minecraft with my daughter when the weather is bad. Then I will just think about those unicyclists that are outside in the wet and cold.

If there’s a reasonable amount if snow involved, riding in the winter surely is more fun!

We will see about that on sunday morning…

Have I told you about my alarm clock being broken?

A DNS after all your training would be a shame…

You don’t have to though… I want that podium.

I didn’t write to you Aurelien. Maxences alarm clock is broken. Is yours broken too?

What he meant is that he has more chances to get a medal if I’m not there :upside_down_face:

ohhhhh makes sense, but you can get a medal on a different thread. The one that everybody hates.
Sorry @Aurelien

No one can truly have that medal other than me… Don’t lie, Bald Quokkah.

I also love riding in Autumn, probably my favourite season.

I want to ride in autumn, but I don’t have a Muni yet and not many trails around here. But I do ride to school and back, and though it can be cold and there’s not many leaves yet, it is nice and will continue to be.

I’m certainly not looking forward to winter.

Is there too much snow to ride in the winter, where you live?

Not much snow, but very cold in mornings

Fortunately, you’re less likely to be cold when unicycling than when doing other outdoor activities. Add a studded tyre in case there‘s ice, and enjoy!
