Attempt of Fastest Circumnavigation [World] by unicycle. Start Sydney 12 Jan 2026

Hi

After an incident involving contact with a car in Ohio, USA, I have had to stop my unicycle tour attempt for Guinness Record:

“ Fastest circumnavigation by unicycle”

I got discharged from hospital after scans and X-rays were clear. I have swelling in left leg and can walk ok, just stiff and, at times tender medial side left knee. I have a knee brace with hinge. Suspected Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) grade 1.

Now I plan to go to Unicon22, and maybe ask to be a volunteer. I will also have my G36 unicycle and hope to join social tour rides, if I am able. I am informed that a MCL grade 1 injury can take about 2-3 weeks to heal to the point of light exercise.

I’ll have my camping gear so am hoping I can get accommodation in the classrooms set up for Unicon22 accommodation - which require sleeping bag & mat.

I am satisfied I got his far, approx. 5700km, with regard to all circumstances at this point-in-time in my life.

The distance is not too far to repeat again, if I get the chance to attempt a world tour again.

I am feeling good about how I managed to give it a go, so will have no regrets going forward.

I can now wait and hope for circumstances to be favourable for future tours possibly with other funding strategies in place.

I learned so much in this tour, including equipment and equipment setup suitable for me.

It was so good to catch up with, and meet so many friends and new friends in New Zealand, the United States and Canada.

Cheers

Norm
