I’m hoping I can meet unicyclists and cyclists along the way. Join me if you can.
In the second half of the announcement video is maps and my intended route with dates. Dates calculated by RidewithGPS based on my rides uploaded to it.
Orange labels indicate 80km/day for 6 days then 1 rest day.
Blue labels indicate 50km/day for 6 days then 1 rest day.

That’s so awesome! Good luck. Are you planning to take the Katy Trail through Missouri?
Yes!! I’ve heard so many good things about the Rail trails of America and I want to ride on them as much as possible. I would be so grateful if anyone had any suggestions for me if they see I could slightly change my route to ride any nice riding routes. Cheers
That’s really nice!
Will you post somewhere your map plan ? (I mean not in a video format) for us to watch it and give advices if we have any.

I got this set up so people can follow me. Link is in my Linktr.ee in the Instagram page.
Can people give me feedback about that link/ site above. I haven’t started yet so there is no track on the globe.
I will also have a Garmin inreach satellite tracker/SOS function.
It is marked as “private profile”, so we can’t see anything.

Hi,
Could you try this link. Then you have to install the app and become a member for free.
You should have received a following request. I cannot see anything at this point
It’s great that you organized this. It’s something that’s really needed, it’s a shame I won’t be able to join the route.
Hi,
After an intense 1 month since quiting my job, attending to family commitments (concerns), attending to every “to do” item re: Home maintenance I had been putting off, packing away all my possessions in “my” storage area in the home (asked to hand over all my keys), preparing unicycle and acquiring gear, attending to Guinness officialdom (rules),
it is now 2 sleeps to the start of my attempt to circumnavigate the globe.
I have had no chance (not a spare minute) to even ride my unicycle since 18 December. Being doing my stretching routine.
To follow my progress, the official tracking for this attempt is with GPS satellite tracker and MAProgress at:
See you on the road, please join me if you can. (if I follow my route as planned)
I am attempting Guinness Record for “Fastest circumnavigation by unicycle” while being mindful of family commitments, so if I am delayed during the attempt (re: rule of “ must not remain stationary for more than 14 days) due to return trip for family commitment, I will endeavor to continue for the goal of FKT (Fastest Known Time).
ie. I intend to do return home visits at end of New Zealand leg, and end of North America leg with possibility of others.
Thats great, good luck!
Good luck, have a safe trip. May you be spared from those dreaded UPDs.
Good luck! Glad to hear you’ll still go for FKT rather than letting the 14 day rule end your mission.
Wow, I am surely going to follow your progress and I would love to ride along with you for a few miles when you come through Pennsylvania.
Best wishes! I’m looking forward to following your progress!
Good luck! This project is HUGE and I love it! I will be ready for when you are by my hometown, I have already planned our route together ![]()
Good morning, best of luck and hope everything goes well.
Hey Jakob,
Thanks, I’m even so more motivated to get there and ride with you.
Frantically packing now.
Cheers
Norm
How are you doing out there? Much saddle soreness?
Hi,
Saddle soreness - managing well.
Shorter distances in the first month have definitely allowed my body to adapt, including the “sensitive” areas.
I just have merino boxers ( brand)
Got rid of my riding padded shorts within first 2 weeks.
Having “Aerobars” allows me to change the pressure points on the saddle regularly.
Position 1. LH tip aero/RH grip on T -Bar
Position 2. RH tip aero/LH grip on T-Bar
Position 3. Both hands tip of Aero-Bar
Position 4. Both hands tip Aero-Bar & Elbows resting on T-Bar
Couple of days ago, (Reefton to Lyell Campground), I was able to ride for 15km before first rest stop and 30km for second rest stop.
I’m pretty happy with that progress.
