Those are very impressive! I doubt that I could accomplish anything like that. They are professionals.
Yes, actually, Thierry is indeed a professional. He’s an illustrator and comics author.
Huh… The wall ruins the look of the painting.
Wow you are talented. I do have a nagging question. Is the guy in your avatar/artwork you? Kinda looks like Brad Pitt.
Edit: I’m sure its Brad.
LOL Yeah, it is Brad Pitt. My teacher had a huge collection of photos of people for us to choose from to do art projects with. I didn’t want to draw women anymore, because their hair was too difficult to draw. That’s why I picked Brad. Plus, I liked the shadow features. I love working with unusual shadows.
Here was my first drawing of a female. Her hair was too complicated to draw. I couldn’t do it. It was black hair with too much detail that you couldn’t see. So, I had to reinvent her hair.
The rest of her was from the photo, but the hair was from my head. Add to that the complications of a macrame dress, that I couldn’t get the meticulous details from. Women make terrible first time art projects. Unless they have straight light colored hair, with no complicated clothing.
Yes, drawings look better in person.
@Canapin, those look great! Why did you quit?
This was my pen & ink project. The actual drawing was copied from this back of a book. The students job was to do the ink work. How did you get your to photograph so well? Even with this I had to tweak the levels in my photo app to get it to look normal.
At least that was theory.
I wish I didn’t, but sometimes life doesn’t want you to do some things

Alternatively, any photo editing software will allow you to tweak light and black balance to have better results.
Oh, that’s how you did it. I only have a phone. I don’t have a computer, scanner, or wifi. I remember my first scanner. It was very impressive.
Perhaps this topic was a sign, that life is calling you back to drawing?
A lot of new drawings from @Thierry_92 inspired by the Unicon 20:
