Having watched The Da Vinci Code on TV the other night, I thought it was a woeful adaptation of what was a decent book.
Angels And Demons seems a bit more movie friendly (I eagerly await Harper’s cameo at CERN).
Please God let The Taking Of Pelham 123 be good.
The original is one of my favourite movies.
Good thing I don’t generally read reviews. I’m surprised. Do you usually let others determine your opinions?
Billy, you’re too smart not to know that while UU may have differences with Catholism, it would never attack it. You might as well ask who I’d root for if peanut butter attacked jelly.
I sorta liked it. I read the book though, and just so so so so much is changed…impossible to cram everything that needed to crammed in there from the book…but thats always how it is.
i think if you havent read the book and see it youll like it much better.
r u a holocaust denyer? remember when the UU leaders tryd to annihilate the catholic church? it’s history, when the UU leaders were in league with the atheists Mao, Stalin, and Lenin, and dupes just went along.
We can all go read reviews online if we want. Go see it. I didn’t think it was too long, but it seemed overblown. The group I saw it with didn’t buy the idea of such a tiny number of people setting all of that up. But I found it very exciting to watch and, knowing it’s just a story, seeing all the interesting sights around Vatican City.
I don’t know about peanut butter, but I’ve definitely been attacked by ketchup before.
I really don’t understand why people is so obsessed about Dan Brown…
It’s the same feeling I get when people come to me and say “Oh my God, I’ve read Paulo Coelho’s book and it is SOOO amazing.”
I know exactly what you mean. It happens to me when I read PM’s from people who say, “I just read Billy’s last post and it’s SOOO amazing.” What’s wrong with these people?
I really enjoyed it. First non child film I have seen in the cinema for many years (we took the opportunity to go while our boy was away with the school).
In the UK it is billed as a 12a (over 12 but 12 year olds can go and see it if they are with an adult). I wouldn’t take my 12 year old to see it, some of the scenes are quite gruesome (to me anyway, and I have never enjoyed watching people burning to death, even on TV)
I didn’t enjoy the A & D book anywhere near as much as the Da Vinci Code, which I found far more thought provoking. Not seen the A & D film, but I confess to falling asleep during the film of the D.V.Code. But maybe I was tired.
