errr…we don’t have this “A” or “AS” thing in the US…do you have the SAT? Our normal definition of an AS refers to the Associate in Science degree that you get after completing two years of college(university, to you all).
ahh sorry should’ve explained about them,
yeah we have SATs too , AS levels are big exams (50% A Levels) taken in yr 12 first year of 6th form and A Levels are other half taken in yr 13 and yr results decide yr place at the uni u have applied for
So are they basically like standardized tests you have to take to graduate?
If they are, they actually sound like they’re serious over there. Our standardized tests (in Texas, at least) test your ability to deal with pure stupidity, and to stay awake for the hour it takes to do the test.
when do u get yr results? yeah agree! problem with lectures and 6th form is that coz its not so ‘organized’ like other yrs its oh so tempting to skip lessons and do far more intersting stuff
That’s almost the entire point of sixth form, seriously if you can get your self-discipline you’ve got it sorted.
To explain to our foreign friends, A levels are what you need to get in to university, usually atleast three (but maybe up to seven) pertinent to the degree you want to study i.e. physics maths and chemistry in my case.

infact i threw my folder accross my room before, but now im chilled
done biology was super hard
physcology i got went the toilet on the paper it was that easy, call me stupid when i get the E to kick me in the teeth.

Uhh, psychology. I took the As last year and got BCU. B and C for the written papers and U for the project.
This year I’m hoping to get a better grade for it so I can have a C for my A Level.
I won’t even mention Chemistry.
On the bright side, I find Maths and Physics easy and interesting.
School should be over in about three months for me.
Are you taking three language A Levels plus psychology? That’s crazy!
You can spell “BUC” -British Unicycle Convention, with ur grades!
haha! if i were a university i’d accept u just on the basis that yr grades spell the intials of one of the most famous events ofthe year!
You’re forgetting General Studies Dave, GENERAL STUDIES!!!
AS levels were hard, but you have to remember that if you do screw one up slightly you have got the A level year to get it right. I went from a D to a B in computing from AS to A level, just by redoing a coursework and working my ass off.

I’ve had my Physics and have my Maths on Tuesday, not looking forward to that, kinda failing Maths.
Physics went well though! So it isn’t all to bad.
