A short unicycle video. https://youtu.be/aAI6SYO1aUo
I’m so jealous!
My brother filmed it
when you edit a video you can leave out all the bad bits!
Congratulations, you’ve taken to it very well in a very short time!
Nice to see that you jumped right in to the “deep end” with the new 26" Oracle, too!
Keep up the great progress!
Congrats on your progress. Nice video, too. Great place to shoot a video. I loved the waterfalls and rock walls. Keep up the good work!
Why so serious?
Just my reaction to your facial expressions. If that’s your riding after only six weeks, it’s pretty amazing. Six weeks for me, and I was barely able to start riding down my driveway.
Also beautiful shooting and editing.
Concentration face
Massive concentration face! More relaxed every time I go out.
Filmed with iphone in some nice places in Somerset.
Struggling with downhills at the moment. - just getting used to the brake. I guess muscle strength comes into play and improves with time in the saddle. It has 150mm cranks. Can steepish downhills be done eventually with that length crank or is that where the disc brake comes in. Speed vs control??
Thanks for any feed back on technique etc.
It’s the good bits I’m jealous of!
150 is a very common size for Muni. I ran 145s for many years on my Wilder Muni (no brake). I finally got a Muni with a brake, in July. Big difference, and friendly on the knees!
In time you will learn to hold the seat handle (or a handlebar) to greatly improve your power and stability. Holding on allows you to apply more downward force (good for climbing and accelerating), and also keeps you moving along with the unicycle, rather than bouncing off to the side or something.
But don’t concern yourself too early about locking down one (or both) of your hands. You’ll know when it’s time to start experimenting there.
I now find myself using the brake less and less on the hills. I can roll down steep pitches that terrified me at first. With time should come to you too.
Thanks for that
Thanks for the support guys.
All advice appreciated.
