X games 12

Anyone watching the X games? Unfortuantly I’m out of town and have to miss most of it, but I saw Travis Pastrami’s double flip last night. That was pretty good…

I really want to watch the BMX park, but I’ll be working at the time it’s on tv, I hope they replay it.

I wish they would have more sports, though. What happened to DH mountain biking, and bmx flatland? Bike trials? I would rather watch those than rally car racing…

They have theses things now called VCRs. That allow you to replay something that was on television on your own schedule.

I am out of town, in a hotel. I can’t get to our VCR. Please stop your negative crap.

it started! nooooooooooooooooo I missed some:( wat did I miss:( ?

Um, lemme think… skateboard vert best trick, motoX best trick, BMX vert best trick. That’s all I saw last night, I think they did some other stuff thursday.

what channel? OLN?

YAY!

I just found out my dad recordeded it last night!!! YAY!

ESPN and ABC.

they really need to start a rival contest, that has all of the awesome sports like dh biking and trials. and most importantly unicycling. x games has gotten boring.

they took out rollerblade vert  that was one of my favortite things

The day before unicon I’ve met Simon Tabron.

My x-game source: fatbmx.com a website of a friend, who use(d?) to judge the BMX events.

that’s because it’s a huge, over-hyped, corporate event, and is geared towards those interests.

they’ve eliminated a lot of the sports, for the winter and summer games–which demonstrates to me one thing: that they DON’T really care about the sports. it’s a big, flashy money-making thing.

when i used to ride bmx, as a rider, i realized that the best riders never made it into the games. why? because they centered their riding styles around technical tricks/skills. which, the only problem with technical tricks, is that they don’t look as cool to a non-rider. a non-rider is far more pleased with some big air flashy huge trick, a la the backflip variety.

because the focus is on big and flashy, and not technical, unicycling will never fit in. something like that crazy rail kris holm rides in defect will always amaze me more than, say, a twelve foot drop to flat. technical riding RULES!

that would be cool, however, like someone suggested, if a rival event was staged. albeit, the event would be significantly smaller, which is no problem because those kinds of sports are based in tight-knit communities anyway.

I love the x-games i have watched it every night so far i missed the first half of last night but thats it. I don’t really think unicycling has a chance in the x games because it is to technical

I think it does, I think that Big Street has a big chance in the X games, the funnest thing (coolest to watch too) in unicycling (I think) is doing fast paced big street

But how many people actually do runs with massively huge tricks in them? The X-games is leaning more towards the fast, super big tricks. Last year they made that rediculously gigantic rimp for the skaters, and this year watching the BMX park they had a massive drop-in ramp. You can’t go that fast or high on a unicycle, so it will never go into the x-games.

i totally agree, but that doesn’t keep it from being a total downer

Ha, wait a few years and BC wheeling might get there (as long as Bryan doesn’t hurt himself first;) )

i jsut saw some Travis P(something) so a double backflip on a motorbike. it was awesome. he is my favourite motorcross rider. i also think its a fact that he has never lost a motorcross freestyle event.

yea bc’ing would be awesome to see in the x games.

OT:wouldn’t freestyle unicycling be able to be in the summer olympics? cause a lot of the stuff they do is just like figures skating, at least it looks that way to me.

i saw …that guy… do a double-flare on BMX vert best trick. whatever the hell a flare is, it was cool. he won.
