women saddle preferences?

Sorry if this has been answered, but wasnt sure what the women thought the most comfy saddle was.

I’m not a girl, but I believe that the Kris Holm Fusion Freeride is the best… It’s the most confy for men at least…

You’re looking for a street, trials or long distance/muni seat? That also change the things… A big seat really sucks for flat, street and trials…

As a girl, I’d have to agree with the above…The Fusion Freeride is definitely one of the more comfy saddles for us.

I was thinking of getting a trials/street/flat uni for now. Not getting a muni, yet lol. So I’m looking at the KH fusion street versus the Nimbus Gel. I think most guys preferred the Nimbus but not sure if the girls felt the same.

I greatly prefer the KH Fusion Street to the Nimbus Gel. I’ve had very limited experience with the Nimbus. I have decided that I like the KH much more. I ride Fusion Street saddles on my street setup.

EDIT: I am a guy if that matters to you.

I am asking since right now the Nimbus trials comes with a KH street saddle but later it will be the Nimbus gel again. So not sure if I should get one now if the KH is a better saddle since I know what I want as far as unis go. Just I was going to wait til I really knew how to ride it lol. Seems like what others said was the Nimbus was more comfy, KH is better for tricks. I have no idea how it would be different for the girls since we are equipped differently lol. It seems they are more alike then different but I think once I learn it I will ride a lot and dont want a sore butt. :o

I will probably do more street/flat and riding. Nothing big as far as trials goes with drops. I’m new so its hard for me to tell. Maybe I’ll just wait a few weeks til I’m really riding and go with whatever it comes with even though I dont want to lol. As it might be 6 months before I start really getting into tricks. My Dr. said my arm takes a full year to fully heal from being broken so I cant go crazy til November and I might get the plate and screws out a few months after that so I might have to be mostly a rider for awhile.

OK, maybe I’ll wait and get the Nimbus then, then when I bust it up and get into tricks more, get the KH. Thanks!!

I’m a girl in love with my Nimbus Gel. I’m not a good reference for nimbus vs kh though, because I’ve never owned a KH. But I had a ridiculously painful trainer seat for nearly a year before I upgraded to Nimbus which in comparison is like riding on a cloud!

I might have to get the KH! I think I will wait 2 more weeks and if they have them still, I’ll get it. I will work hard on learning now too!! I’m starting this week working at a bike/outdoor sporting goods store and they are going to also train me to help with bike maintenance. I think it would be fun to put my uni together and get the other guys to want one. My torker seat is really uncomfortable but no pain yet. I am hoping I get good enough to ride my uni to work. Its not far so its doable! But if I get into flat, KH is best? I guess its narrower or something?

A saddle is a saddle.

Get a Kris Holm saddle, and you’ll be good.

Both are very comfortable.

A saddle is not just a saddle for a girl.

There sitting issues are different from ours.

I’m still hoping another girl will show up on this thread! I guess right now I figure either will do me. If any girl has ridden a KH and loves it, please respond since that seems to be the best for me. I appreciate the one input on the Nimbus!! But as far as bikes go, I do know our hips are shaped differently so whats great for guys isnt so great for the girls. I would hate to not to be able to ride for long due to butt issues lol.

I wouldn’t say a saddle’s a saddle. If that’s the case, why suggest a KH saddle and not a Viscount saddle?

I have a Nimbus gel, and KH fusion street, I hate the KH, I find it really uncomfortable and I think the Nimbus is way better.

I have not had a kh or nimbus, i converted my torker saddle to an air cushion one and it has been great distance wise i am not sure what it would do if you are doing a lot of tricks… as i am not up to that yet. if you have the time you might just wait for a couple more girls to pop up here… good luck

I might wait a bit and see what other girls might add. My Dr. today didnt even give me the OK to ride my mountain bike off road so there is no hurry as I cant do any tricks until May. And I seem to be learning slower since “I must be careful” but its better slow then waiting and not riding it at all. But even bouncing on the tire is crazy fun! It seems to me maybe the Nimbus might be better for comfort and riding. Could others explain why its not ideal for tricks? I guess its more durable but is it narrower or something?

I spoke to unicycle dot com to find the differences. The KH is a bit wider in the back and flatter. It also has less cushioning which he said would be more comfortable for longer rides since it would compress less. I do know on bicycle seats, women are more comfey on a slightly wider rear saddle since our sit bones are wider apart. They are trying to get rid of the street saddles because there is a new one coming out, not sure what the specs are though.

Hey,

One additional thing to consider: one of the reasons that the Fusion saddles have removable covers is that it’s not possible to design a foam shape to fit everyone. If you have a particular unique preference, it’s not difficult to remove the Fusion saddle cover and reshape (cut) the foam to your preference. An exacto knife or sharp bread knife work well for cutting foam. Just be careful about it because messing up the foam isn’t something covered by warranty =).

On my own saddle (for muni and distance), I’ve cut the center channel on the Fusion Freeride deeper than the stock version. This change will eventually make its way onto the production model as I personally find it to be very comfortable. On mine, the channel depth is the same as standard spec on the front and back ends, but increases to 30 mm depth in the middle.

Kris

Oh, that sounds good… I wonder what will be the difference. Probably the freeride will change too then. So I hope they’ll get even more comfortable.

Edit: Well I guess Kris partly answered my question already, so it’ll have a deeper channel. Anything else going to change?

that’s unlikely  do a search in RSU and you’ll find a couple of similar threads…

For some reason since world wide there are a lot of unicyclists, I thought there would be more girls who did it too. :frowning: Oh well, girls or no girls I seem to enjoy it anyway lol. I dont quite get how a harder seat can be more comfortable? My bike seat isnt squishy but it does have gel in it and I like that. I’m leaning slightly in the direction of the Nimbus since at least one girl has it and loves it. Also, looks like with my broken arm that it may be awhile before I can really push doing any tricks on the uni so comfort should be first. I dont want to rebreak it and dont understand what 90-95% healed from my Dr. means as far as how strong it is now. He told me it takes a year to fully heal, so thats why I’m learning at a cautious pace.

So the girls on here, does it take you longer to learn too? Seems like most guys here learn it in a few days. I was even slow to learn to walk and talk but now I dont stop lol.
