Who likes Tintin?

I found a book at a thrift store today called “TINTIN the complete companion” and it’s full of information about the inspiration for the stories and cheraters. I loved reading them, and I read them all, and after getting this book, I want to go back and read them again in chronological order.

Does anyone else like Tintin?

Was Tintin that old-ish television show with the detective (I think?) and his small dog that resembled Toto from the Wizard of Oz?

Nevermind, I wp’ed it
wp tintin

I vaguely remember the tv show, but I never read any of the books.

i came to tintin after my asterix period
i still grew up with a variety of the books
ideal reading for rainy sunday afternoons

which is the only book that shows Tintin crying?

I was more of a Lucky Luke kid… then again, all my copies of Tintin, Asterix, and Lucky Luke were in French, and since I barely read French… Lucky Luke is the Man though

Aaaah! Now I know; TinTin is AKA Kuifje!
As the maker was Flamisch and Wallonian speaking.
And so same as Lombard he has two names.
(which is in Lombards case “manneken Pis” which translates as “Mr. Piss” but does’nt sound attractive, though that’s what he does whole day. But is that the truth reason for having two names?).

Talking of Lombard, if you go to Bruxelles to buy Belgium Sprouts, and you hit Lombard (not littery!), then in that street you will find a special TinTin store (which is even more expensive that Sprouts are).

To return the question. Yes, I’d like TinTin. As kid the 1st ever movie I saw in a cinema was this TinTin rocket movie. I’d like the characters in the stories, but most of all the drawing style. But no, I don’t have any books nor collecters items.

What I still do have is a b/w picture AND draw of that view of one the maker’s travels. It shows a big American city VERY long ago from the water. I saved to put it on the wall one day.

Bytheway, that website at Kuifje.com is using Flex. A very expensive server for which I kind of have a licence.

Never really realized Quick & Flupke was also made by Herge:

I used to read Tintin all the time, but personally was more of an Asterix kid. I havn’t read one in about 5 years though. I should go get one.

But if you want the best, you need to go with Where’s Waldo books.

I used to watch the Tintin TV Show…it was awesome.

Asterix and tintin are good books

I used to like tintin when I was in elementary school.

But would he ever die?

sorry about my english

YES! Oh man, I learned to READ on those books!

CRAZY!

anyways, they’re in like 30 languages, not translated by the author. I have a spanish one that we got when everyone was learning spanish, and I can read most of it.

my library has a huge collection of them, I think all of them except the lake of sharks one and one other. I’m not sure which.

thank you for being another person who likes these. it’s cool to see other people who have read 'em, even though there are lots. I don’t actually knokw why I’m freaking out…

I forgot which one it’s in, but it’s because he lost snowy.

I’ve never heard about the Tintin show, I must see that some time.
