Wheel walking a Cokers

Hi there,

Mark came along to the Durham City Jugglers with his Coker. He was on his way
back from Gretna… He lives in Harrogate, Greta is 90 miles north West from
there! Durham is also about 90 miles from Gretna but it is not really on the way
home for him. If you know Miark this is not too surprising, any way… He was
trying wheel walking the Coker and could do it, he also reminded me of another
trick he does with his Coker, he seat drags it! Seat in front, he can not lift
it when it is down but he absolutely rockets along when he does do it.

Wow! That gives me an idea for a variation. He may have already done it by
accident…

While seat dragging in front, ride over a small bump. Bump size depends on seat
angle on ground, etc. The bump has to catch the seat so it stops, and the
momentum of the rider carries him up and over until he has successfully
transitioned to seat drag in back!

Sounds like fun (I’ll watch)!

I was trying seat dragging last Saturday on my Coker, but I didn’t get very far
as the gym was quite crowded. I wasn’t sure about doing it at first. I thought
that the frame would be fairly close to being perpendicular to the ground where
the seat could almost be run over or serve as a brake. I was amazed that it did
work though (on the smooth gym floor) and you have to be extra careful not to
wobble the wheel back and forth so much as to hit your thighs with the tire.

Cokers aren’t just for riding long distance anymore, and there are lots of
freestyle tricks that can be done on them (it’s harder with a backpack on). Such
as: 1 ft, wheel walking, seat in front, seat in back, spoke walking, hopping,
idling… pretty much anything that’s not dependent on the frame crown being
used or the uni being on the side where the wheel would get in the way.

What I forgot to mention is that whenevery Miark tries any really mad tricks on

Yes, and when paul wanted to do incredibly maddly on the euro-cycle obstacles
race he borrowed Miarks… and miark wouldn’t let him take it swimming in the
plank bridge pond.

I guess Miark just doesn’t like to see HIS babies get messed up, if he can mess
some one elses.
