Wheel lacing jig for 36er

While I’m waiting for a new hub, spokes and cranks to build a new 36er wheel, I made this wheel lacing jig with what I had laying around in my shop. Made it tall enough to allow spokes to dangle without hitting ground, so I can load hub 9 at a time. Haven’t decided whether to put the key spoke one hole to the left of the valve hole or two holes to the right. Probably one hole to left, since this will be built on a non-disc hub, which can be switched directions, which also means leading spokes can become trailing spokes and vice versa.

I use this, compatible for any wheel size

This is good info as I am looking to build a 32 wheel. Are you building the wheel non disc for a reason? Are you going brakeless or a different type of brake set up?

Unigeezer‘s jig is for lacing, the instrument you use is for trueing (so, for the next step).

No need such complicated tool to build a wheel, I have built over 50 wheels …

You‘re correct.
But if it makes life easier… And if someone finds pleasure to rig it up, why not?

Made a quick tutorial for a 3x, 36 hole wheel build. I inadvertently referred to the third set as the fourth set, but I pinned a comment that it should have been referred to as the third set.
