What should I buy?

Hi! I’m new here… I was driving MTB about 2-3 years in Croatian championship & now I discover a unicycle… I drive 20 Inch Unicycle “Professional” Qu-ax.

Questions:

  1. Should I buy shinguards with ankle protections or SixSixOne 4x4 knee-shin guards?
  2. Should I buy Helmet?
  3. Should I buy gloves?

Thx

I just change my nick, but the questions are same… please help…:o

Helmet and gloves are essential, and I would recomend the 661’s but I havn’t tried anything else. Definately wear leg protection though. hope this helps

I only wear shinguards, i used to not wear those but once i started doing more street style i ended up with lots of cuts, but the shinguards stopped all of the pedal bites, and you should wear a helmet, i dont, but just to be safe, everyone one should (and i need to listen to my own advice)

Ive tried wearing gloves, but i didnt like them, they just didnt feel right when i was grabbing my handle, and i would get sweaty stinky glove hans, and i hated that too.

Thx… enyone else have opinion?

LEG GARDS… the other stuff i never use… u will want leg gards a lot when you learn to jump. i only wear leg gards.

leg guards! and helmet

I don’t wear anything but regular clothes. Safety equipment cuts down on cool scars.

I’m going to buy KH gloves and 661 4x4.

Thanx everyone…

my 2.5 cents

Get a helmet and gloves for sure. If you’re doing muni then get the shins.

get shin guards and a helmet for sure. if i didn’t have a helmet yesterday i would have a few bad places on my face and head. also i love wearing gloves.

I have 661 4x4s and Mace race gloves. Thats what i wear when i ride most of the time. I have a helmet that i wear when I wanna do something really stupid. I think that helmet and leg armour are essentil while gloves are more of a comfort thing for trials. But for muni all three are very important.

singaurds then helmet no need for gloves because in this order by the time you want them you wont need them

how do u know what size to get for the 661 shin guards

Get a Large, they are the best fit, specially seeing how your 13, youll grow more which will make them even better.

I have a friend, who is extremly skinny and not all that tall, about 5’5"ish, and he has the large, and it fits him great.

unless you (for some inexplicable reason) get hit with the pedal on the back of the calf alot, i have a good 661 substitute.

i wanted 661s, but i dont want to shell out the 35$ plus shipping (yes im cheap) so i just bought some shin guards and a pair of REALLY long black socks. it only cost like 15 bucks, and you get the same feeling of all over coverage, AND it stops 97% of shin injuries

measure the width of your ankle and just above your knee

There really is no substitue for 661’s as far as leg protection goes. Nothing seems to cover and protect as well. No matter how hard of a hit your shins take you almost never even feel it, much less get hurt by it. And mine have never caused any discomfort, even after hours of trials riding.
