Hi! I’m new here… I was driving MTB about 2-3 years in Croatian championship & now I discover a unicycle… I drive 20 Inch Unicycle “Professional” Qu-ax.
Questions:
Should I buy shinguards with ankle protections or SixSixOne 4x4 knee-shin guards?
Helmet and gloves are essential, and I would recomend the 661’s but I havn’t tried anything else. Definately wear leg protection though. hope this helps
I only wear shinguards, i used to not wear those but once i started doing more street style i ended up with lots of cuts, but the shinguards stopped all of the pedal bites, and you should wear a helmet, i dont, but just to be safe, everyone one should (and i need to listen to my own advice)
Ive tried wearing gloves, but i didnt like them, they just didnt feel right when i was grabbing my handle, and i would get sweaty stinky glove hans, and i hated that too.
get shin guards and a helmet for sure. if i didn’t have a helmet yesterday i would have a few bad places on my face and head. also i love wearing gloves.
I have 661 4x4s and Mace race gloves. Thats what i wear when i ride most of the time. I have a helmet that i wear when I wanna do something really stupid. I think that helmet and leg armour are essentil while gloves are more of a comfort thing for trials. But for muni all three are very important.
unless you (for some inexplicable reason) get hit with the pedal on the back of the calf alot, i have a good 661 substitute.
i wanted 661s, but i dont want to shell out the 35$ plus shipping (yes im cheap) so i just bought some shin guards and a pair of REALLY long black socks. it only cost like 15 bucks, and you get the same feeling of all over coverage, AND it stops 97% of shin injuries
There really is no substitue for 661’s as far as leg protection goes. Nothing seems to cover and protect as well. No matter how hard of a hit your shins take you almost never even feel it, much less get hurt by it. And mine have never caused any discomfort, even after hours of trials riding.
