This thread is about posting the songs or the artists that pump you up when you are riding.
What kinda songs get you pumped for riding? what is your perfect song to unicycle to? What is the song you want people to play as your riding anthem at uni comps?
one of my songs I play ever time I ride is JMT “Whats Really Good”
I have a library of over 5500 songs, so i listen to ALOT of music, i use Monster Cable Turbine Ear Buds, or Monster Cable, Dr Dre Studio Beats. I listen to fast, intense or indrenaline building music to get me pumped.
Heres one of my latest finds
Anything by that band blows my mind! Not one song is the same and they are SO good!!!
The new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is mind numbingly good!
I only ride 36ers. Mostly on rails-to-trails paths but sometimes on the road. I don’t wear earphones/headphones so that I can hear cars approaching. Instead, I carry a set of iHome speakers in my CamelBak. It’s not Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound quality but they do provide a little music as well as the announcements (speed, time, distance) from my iPhone CycloMeter app. Granted, I am probably quite a bit older than most of you guys but my “workout” playlist always begins with Queen’s “Bcycle". The lyrics are "I want to ride my bcycle, I want to ride my bike. I want to ride my bcycle, I want to ride it where I like.” Then Pink Floyd has a song called “Bke". The lyrics are "I’ve got a bke, you can ride it if you like. It’s got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good. I’d give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it.” Other than that it’s mostly 80’s hair bands like Van Halen or Aerosmith. I told you I was old.
Depends on the mood. Dubstep of course, how can you ride flat without it? But also things like grateful dead, sublime, bob barley, led zeppelin… to things like ratatat, rjd2, or wax tailor…
Damian marley is allways a good choice for riding :)I love his music, but I think any of Bob’s Songs still is the better than most music done nowadays, they all have such a great Spirit.
I’m choosing the music for riding by what i’m doing:
Metal&Punk for Street;
Reagge for Roll sessions and practicing Flip/Spin consistency;
Dubstep and Drum&Bass for learning new Flips/Spins.
i should add a bit more metal to my riding. I tend to listen to more rock/dubstep when doing muni. and a lot more rap and hiphop when doing street or trials.
this is one of my FAVORITE dubstep sessions :
but i like a lost of instramental stuff when i ride sometimes too like this:
