<--What are these envelopes?

What do the envelopes over to the left mean?
closed, open, green, how about the yellow down arrow in a blue square?

I’ve tried to ignore them, but they’re starting to drive me nuts

scrolll down to the very bottom of the forum page. there is a key there.

Sounds like you’re describing something on your screen, which we can’t see.
Something to do with the software you’re using to read these messages. It
could be a Web browser, a news reader, or an email program. This would be a
clue. Then there would be a make and model name, and a version number to
that software program, such as “Microsoft Outlook 2000 SR-1” (a favorit of
viruses everywhere).

Outlook has envelopes and other symbols, which are explained in the help.
For example, if you go to Help, use the index, and search on “symbol”, then
you can click on “Symbols in Inbox” to get a list of all the pictures with
their meanings, which is actually quite helpful.

But this is only how you do it in one program.

Good luck,
JF

He’s talking about the thread-type icons in the column to the left of the thread name column. The key is at the bottom is there, but it is incomplete. For example, it does not include envelopes with a large black dot in the middle of them.

The “envelopes” do not occur on the unicyclist.com home page, just on the pages that list the threads only. Example page:

Re: <–What are these envelopes?

I took this as a question on the symbols on the forum pages on Gilby’s
website. I don’t communicate via the fora so I don’t know what the
symbols are, but I remember having seen such symbols once when I got
lost and ended up on the fora. (No I was curious.)

The arrow in sofa’s header line “What are these envelopes?” was on my
screen pointing to a rectangle with small lines, a
sort-of-an-upside-down envelope and the number 13. All of these have
meaning within my news reader but I doubt you wanna know.
