wearing out my pants

I have a small problem that I can’t seem to shake. Halfway up both thighs, my
uni’s seat keeps wearing two small holes in whatever pants (or shorts) I wear
when I ride. Is this a problem with the way I’m sitting? Maybe I’m too far
forward? Maybe I just need a new seat? Can anyone help me?

What kind of seat was that again? It sounds like the seat, especially if it has
a wide front and that’s where the holes are happening. If you don’t have any,
try out some cycling shorts for better comfort, but if you have holes in strong
fabric, you will in those too.

Another possibility, do you have really fat legs?

Even if not, some new riders tend to squeeze the seat unnecessarily when they
ride, either unconsciously or for fear of loosing a grip on
it. But you don’t need to.
