WANTED: 36" Coker wheel

36H or 48H, steel or aluminum, tire/cranks/pedals optional - I’m just looking for a rim, hub and spokes in decent shape!

I bought a used Coker with an irreparable axle, so it’s dead in the water…

My search is over, I’ve found my wheel!

what about your other one???

I purchased a Qu-Ax 36H/100mm hub; my plan is to disassemble the old wheel, clean up the rim and spokes and have a pro rebuild it using the old spokes. Then I’ll have a spare for experimentation (tire, cranks).

If it’s a not disk brake hub, don’t bother with the pro (or at least give it a shot yourself first) - wheel building is a skill worth learning!

Bigger wheels are easier to work with than smaller ones but dished wheels are not somewhere to start.

You think?! From what I’ve absorbed so far as a newcomer to unicycling, wheel building seems complex to me!

It’s long and requires a bit of focus but it’s not that bad.

The reward is being able to use any hub, any rim. While the Sheldon Brown guide is pretty intimidating it does cover it all.

Pic related, this weekends project…

I’ll have to admit you’ve piqued my interest, Dave - my entire career has been based on assembly/repair (albeit on a microscopic level), so I’m a long-time tinkerer…

I wasn’t aware of the Guide you provided a link for, thanks for that; I’ll poke around a bit, see if this is something I’d care to pursue!

I appreciate your input and suggestions
