Unipacking Trip + Foodbank Fundraiser (Carbon 20" Wheel Raffle Prize)

Hi everyone,

To @Canapin I don’t beleive this breaks any rules but please let me know if so.

The Trip:

At the end of June 2026, I’m setting out from Kingston Canada to ride about 200km to Ottawa Ontario on my 20" unicycle. These trips are deeply spiritual for me, and I wanted it to have an impact with the help of the community.

I want to try and raise $420.69 CAD for the Ottawa Foodbank, though there’s hungry people in many of our communities, this is the one I call home.

Keep others in the loop:

If you do make a donation, I would love if you can post it here or dm me to help keep track of the running total. I’m hoping to post some pictures along the way and provide updates on the total amount donated as I’m posting this is a few places.

Please make the donation under Harambe Unicycle so I can get the foodbank to help keep track potentially. If they create a custom campaign link I’ll post it above.

20" Carbon Wheel Raffle Prize, For this Server Only:

For the prize, I have a 20" Carbon ISIS disk wheel I am hoping to use as an incentive. It has a new carbon Moto G2 light bicycle rim, news spokes, brass nipples, and a used M41 hub and Maxxis DHR tire 20" x 2.3". The wheel is 100mm pitch and will likely fit your existing frame. There is a loose spoke in the pictures, it will be finished before sending it out and trued properly. For everyone who donates over $100 CAD, I want to give you a chance to win this wheel if you pay the shipping cost to you. Due to some bills I am unable to help cover shipping, but will help get it to you the cheapest and easiest way possible.

The wheel is worth about $500 in parts and labour. Due to the wheel being more niche I want to do this instead of trying to sell it. No issues with it, just feeling like doing some good in the world. The wheel hasn’t been used or rode as I have a 32h version of the same build for my main wheel.

See my post history for a sale post with some more info on the specs. Pics of the wheel below.

Raffle Rules:

For each donation of $100 CAD, you get 1 raffle ticket and each additional $50 would have 1 more entry.

The draw would happen the week of July 8th. You will need to send me the email receipts from the donations if you are the winner. If I can’t verify you did donate, you will be passed over.

Disclaimer:

Please note I have ADHD and Autism so the draw may be delayed if I get distracted or have some extremely low energy after the trip. Please also do not send me money directly, and use the donation link above or a fundraiser specific link if the foodbank makes one for me.

The trip got delayed a bit with some biblical level rain storms in Canada and a bad heat wave, but I’m still going to be drawing for the wheel this week.

The trip is likely going to take place next week so I’ll be updating as I go along on a modified version of the route.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported the trip so far! We only have $112.69 left to meet the funding goal. Currently there’s only 1 person entered into the draw for the wheel.

If you made a donation above $100 CAD or want to be entered, you’ll have 22hrs from when this is posted. I’ll be drawing on 12pm July 7th EST.
