unihockey

I’m still recovering from an intense game of unihockey played in Canberra
yesterday. Our fortnightly meetings have been a blast in the last few months,
and yesterday was no exception. Because the futsal court we normally use was
being used as a helipad (whinge, gripe. . .) we played in the carpark. This
had the added bonus of kerbs, making the game a helluva lot faster - normally
there are no kerbs, so any stray passes or bad hits just keep on rolling off
the court.

I was wondering what kind of arenas unihockey is normally played in: I know a
lot of people play in gyms, but they won’t always have side walls. Do some teams
set up little kerbs even in gyms? or is it just a matter of playing wherever you
can. What were the arenas like at Unicon?

Ta for any info.

nic looking forward to getting my copy of universe

I think you really need boundaries for a proper hockey game. We usually use
these large benches in our gym and turn them 90 degrees.

There we used about everything we could find: benches, advertising banners,
tables, boards, …

BTW: Do you know what happened to the Canberra web site at
http://wilton.anu.edu.au/~james/unicc.html ? Did it move?
