What ever it IS, it’s NOT someone’s mouth coming inot contact with your uni.

At some of the parades we are at, they have portable outdoor toilets. Sometime
they are labeled by gender, but most often not. At one parade a bunch of them
were labeled Unisex. The kids were pointing them out. One of the 9 year old
girls not knowing the real meaning of Unisex exclaimed, “That’s disgusting!”

UniSex? Sounds kinky, like riding your uni without a seat on the post maybe?

That give me a great idea for the artistic pairs competition …

I had to get some silicone lubrication for my ultimate wheel. This was before I
knew about silicone polish spray… so I went and bought a tube of KY Jelly. I
also bought a large german sausage to eat for my tea that night… those are the
only two items I bought! Should’ve seen the face on the checkout…

…anyway… I was explaining this story to a non-unicycle friend, who asked why
I was buying the jelly… “It’s for my unicycle without a seat”… :o)

Cheers,

Stu

ps. Seeing how low we can get the tone around here…

A good start would be a seat that accomodates the human rider. A lot less
research goes into unicycle seats, of course, and the market is tiny. The best
seat I’ve used by far, is an air seat. In my case, in a Miyata seat. Saddle
soreness has not been an issue since I started using it.

A better unicycle seat will be wide enough to offer support to the rider, yet
thin enough not to chafe the legs. It should be very soft down the center, where
the soft tissues go, but offer firm support to the sit bones. Like the Miyata it
will have a handle on the front, bumpers that can take a beating, and be strong
enough not to break. It will come in child and adult sizes.

Before the air seat, I had some seats where a slot was cut in the center of the
foam, maybe 1.25" wide (on a wider, old style Miyata seat). This offered the
same support for the sit bones but not the bulge in the middle.

No, Schwinn and Miyata have different seat interfaces. Also, the weakest part of
the Miyata seats has traditionally been the posts. It’s only a matter of time
before the metal literally tears apart on mine. The cheap solution is to use a
Miyata post (maybe you don’t ride like me). If you drill holes in it it should
fit the Schwinn fork, but not perfectly. For a more durable post, call Tom
Miller (765) 452-2692 for something made out of real metal!

Somebody asked this question awhile ago and I never saw an answer…will
the Miyata seat fit on a Schwinn seatpost? This sounds like something I’d
like to try.

A UNIBUS has four wheels. No, don’t get the wrong idea, it’s meant to
transport all the unicycles and unicycle riders! See a picture:
