Thanks, yeah I was surprised also! Especially since the temps were way warmer than expected. 
Well, I had initially intended to ride/hike up, but was strongly discouraged from doing so by Miles Ornish (oragnized CMW '08) and others, citing the steepness, rocky and looseness of the terrain, and the sheer uphill 12 mile distance with 5,000 feet of elevation gain! I LOVE climbing on my MUni, but after seeing it firsthand, I now understand why they advised against it, lol! :o
Of course, I could have opted to go only part way up then ride back down, but I really wanted to experience the whole DH ride! And, a 12 mile hike up would have taken at least 4-6 hours alone!
