unicycling in asian culture

does anyone know about unicycling in other Asian countries besides Japan
and China? specifically, Singapore and Malaysia? i’ve been unicycling for
about a year and a half in Singapore (and boy are my legs tired, har di
har…) … but to date i have met only two other unicyclists, both
through the local juggling community. one of them’s a brit chap and
professional performer (Ben Matthews). i know there must be other people
out there who at least own unicycles, since i’ve seen Taiwanese unis sold
in bike shops (and according to a guy in one of the shops, he’s been
selling them for 10 years). but where are all these unicycles hiding? i
know quite a few juggler friends who have unis but havent quite learned
to ride them. but surely there must be more than three unicyclists in
this town?

if any of you are reading this, do e-mail me to get in touch at the
following address: julian lim AT unicyclist DOT com (cut out the spaces)

At least one of them is currently at University in Reading in the UK. I’ll
forward your post to Samia in case she wishes to get in touch.
