Not sure about a name but make the design nice and simple, clean and straight to the point, there are some big sites out there for unicycling that really suck and look awful, then again there are quite a few smaller sites that look really nice.
Look forward to seeing whatever result you create. Me and a mate have a small site http://www.fat-tyre.co.uk that just hosts pictures and stuff.
That was the wrong link in my above thread just ignore it
THIS
Is the link. Hope this one works, thats what it should look like, just with a bit more content and company name banner, when i workout what to call it
if this isn’t too obvious, keep as little media as you can on a page. Always link to videos, and if you have the patience, use thumbnails for pictures. I would to refrain from using images in your layout, except for a banner(try to keep it small) and possibly VERY simple, small buttons. CSS is always nice for the layout as it can save you code for multiple pages. Also, colors are EXTREMELY important in the look of your site. Try to stick with 3 main colors for your scheme and try not to deviate from them. Different shades of one color look nice as well (I did that with my site).
Now to actually answer your question, keep your name short and simple. 10 letters or less is good. If if at all possible (which it may not be) try to get a .com, .org, or even a .net. Other things are harder to remember. Speaking of which, you want the title to be easy to remember as well. Numbers are usually bad. Would you easily remember a site called something like ask8site4kewlkidz.co.uk.ne (yes, it’s not likely, but it’s been done way too much)? Think of all the sites you know. Most are simple but to the point. deviantArt, Unicycle, MySpace, Google, Yahoo, etc.
I hope this helps some, it’s just what I’ve learned from personal experience. Keep in mind that I’m no expert and that there are exceptions to every rule out there. Good luck and, most importantly, have fun!
Thanks, ill link to images with a script ive got that loads them up over the screen, comlicated to explain. Its a *.js script. i would like to say however that i prefer sites that look whole, if you no what i mean. I no it take slightly longer on the 1st load, but after there cached the site looks great. sorry for teh choice but here’s what i mean.http://mysp4ce.co.nr
That site looks fine, and it didn’t take long at all to load on my computer. You did a good job getting it to look nice but be efficient at the same time. By all means, do what you feel is best. As I said, I’m no expert at this. By the looks of it, you know more than I do.
Yeah, you want to have something that will make people want to keep coming back. Something interactive is always nice, though I’m not sure exactly what that would consist of for unicycle. Frequent updates (milk offered a lot of good suggestions) are great but can be a hassle after a while.
