Unicycle mouse cursors

Leo recently posted some unicycle mouse cursors on the unicyclist.com “just conversation” forum. These inspired me to make some uni cursors of my own. I’ve made several MUni cursors, and a various assortment of other unicycles. On all my cursors, the “hot spot” (the pixel that you click with) is on the front of the seat.

My cursors are hosted by www.thedan.com , and available for download at:
http://www.sudval.org/~lilmac/unicyclecursors.html

Leo’s cursors are at:
http://www.unicycle.net/cursor/
(I hope he doesn’t mind me posting the link on the NG)

Tell me what you think.

Ben

Those are sooo cool!!! I just installed a combination of yours and leo’s and they are by far the coolest things on my computer!

Incredibly cool! You have done a great service to the unicycle community!

Thanks,
Cherie

I’ve downloaded a cursor, but how do I get it to work on my system?? thanks, Joe

read the read me file.

I never got around to writing a good description of how to get the cursors to work. Leos readme is good, though. Check it out.

Re: Unicycle mouse cursors

Thanks for the cursors, they look sssssssssssssssnazzy! I just wonder what
my lovely lady is going to think of them when she turns the pc on in the
morning. Been kinda avoiding the NG since I busted myself up, not being able
to ride kinda made me not want to see anything to do with unicycles.
Jealousy and longing. Should soon be time to make some tentative excursions
back into the saddle though

Hope everyone has fun at the uni-meet this Saturday. Maybe I will see you
all at the next one.

David

Thanks. I got it working now and I love it. It’s even better than the Spongebob Squarepants one I was using a while ago.

I thought the giraffe one would work really good as the text select I bar, but the hot spot is not quite in the right place. Can you make another one with the pedals as the hot spot? Or maybe you can tell us all how to edit them for ourselves?

Thanks,
Cherie

Thats a good idea! I’ll give it a try when I get home. If it seems to work, I’ll post it.

I made these with a shareware demo of a program called MicroAngelo. You can download it from:
http://www.impactsoft.com/

Ben

Unicycle mouse cursors rule! Thanks to both of you for the effort you put forth for the benefit of all.

I thought the same thing, and had the same problem. I also tried to use the text one from Leo’s batch and it had the same prob as the giraffe.

I downloaded a shareware demo called ArtCursors from Aha-Soft. Their web site is www.aha-soft.com if you want to check it out. I was able to change the hot spot on both text cursors so they now work the way I want.

I love the unicycle cursors! Thanks guys!

Cherie

that program was pretty easy to use. I too fixed the giraffe so that it is better for text, and now, I am the proud owner of an all-unicycle cursor set. Thanks for the tip, and the site cherie. When I get around to it, I’m going to create an animated cursor for when the comp is working.
-David Kaplan

I’ve added a couple of Text Selection cursors to the page, for anyone who doesn’t want to edit them for themselves. I personally didn’t like the Giraffe for it, because there was to much sticking out below, so I also made one with a regular unicycle. On the Giraffe, the hotspot is between the pedals and the seat, and on the other one, its between the seat and the wheel.

I also think it would be cool to make some animated ones, but I haven’t gotten around to trying yet.

Re: Unicycle mouse cursors

Here’s another one quickly made by resizing a popular animated gif.
It’s a bit big (51.2k) and not very clear but it only took 5 minutes.

Okay, who’s gonne re-write and clean up the active-X plug-in of the Comet-cursor? Or is willing to help me with this? I have their .cab of a previous version.

NOTE: I strongly disencourage installing this comet-program!
