Unicycle in Jolly Rancher commercial

All,

Last night I saw the Jolly Rancher (candy) commercial with the unicyclist in
it. It was great! Not only do they show more than a glimpse of unicycling, it’s
not a clown or even clown-related portrayal. It’s a boy, on a yellow
unicycle that looks like a JuggleBug one. One shot shows him juggling, but
he appears in several shots. Even one where his image is repeated several
times across the screen.

It’s coverage like this that turns more people on to unicycling as something
other than clown stuff; something they might want to do. Now, anyone who types
“unicycle” or “unicycling” into a Web browser will find lots of information
about how to become a rider.

In another commercial the other day, I saw mountain bikers riding on the
man-made wooden ramps and ladders of Vancouver’s North Shore. I think it was a
Nissan Xterra commercial. Now if these two commercials are combined, we’d have
Kris Holm riding all over the sides of trees, eating small SUV candies…

Re: Unicycle in Jolly Rancher commercial

I saw a commercial just like that! But I’m pretty sure it wasn’t jolly
rancher… hm, I thought it was Target or something. But maybe I’m wrong!
because it was a yellow jugglebug uni.

S’cuse me. Jolly Ranchers were featured within the commercial, which was, I’m
informed by Jacquie and others, for Target.

Target is a Minneapolis-based company. Wonder where they got the idea to use a
unicycle…?

RE: Unicycle in Jolly Rancher commercial

The coolest thing about the commercial is that it ran during “Survivor” and got
a HUGE audience! I taped the show for a friend and watched the commercial
several times (even slowed it down). It looked like a 10-12 yr. old boy on a
Jugglebug. In addition to Jolly Ranchers(actually the part of the girl before
the unicycle part), they advertised Ziploc Jeans (with a zipper across the knee.
It also featured an old Canned Heat song. Very cool commercial by Target. -Mark

I agree, I think it was a Target commercial. But, my family made a point to call
me into the room because there was a unicycle on TV. I’m pretty sure it was
Target though.
