Do we think there is an issue in running the next Unicon? Like it won’t happen or this is just a delay?
Also how do folks coordinate re possible accommodation plans.
I could camp but I think for the 2 weeks I’d be shattered. The hostel options look definitely more affordable than a hotel (!) -
my gut says I’d opt for the 4 bed dorm room, rather then the 2 sharer as 4 seems a good balance of getting a group that’s not too big or small. If you end up sharing a 2 people room with someone you can’t stand it’s harder. In a 4 there’s a chance others will dilute things.
But in past unicons do people plan these arrangements in advance?
I presume a lot of regulars have actually Unicycling friends. Me: billy no mates in this sphere other than digitally acquainted
I’ve just seen the closing date for early bird tickets has moved back again, it’s gone from 31/12/2025 to 31/01/2026 and now showing as 15/02/2026. Is this just waiting for the new rule book or is there another problem?
I really want to go but for the time off work I need to give notice (I’ll be going straight to a family holiday after unicon and with travel and stuff I’ll probably need to take 4 weeks of leave!) Also trying to figure out my budgeting for the next few months in order to pay for tickets, travel and accommodation. Being an adult is hard
Have reserved a hotel room (I keep wierd hours and snore so introducing me to a dorm is cruel and unusual punishment)
Does anyone have experience flying with larger unicycles, most likely with Ryanair. I think you book it as bike or sporting equipment but is there any more specific advice on what to do?
I don’t think anyone from the Unicon orga group is active on the forum (unless Maxence is involved again). The Unicon site lists all the people though, and I know most of them.
Depends on what “larger” means: I’ve never flown with a 36er.
But for 26-29” you have 2 options: 1) use a bike box or cardboard bike box and pay the bike fee or 2) disassemble and put it as normal luggage (I have an unusual shaped bag that my 29 muni fits into. I’ve flown to 2 Unicons and a bunch of other times). You may have to pay an extra bag fee but generally way less than the usually overpriced bike fees. I use a few foam pads for the wheel and wrap the frame, brake and such with bubble wrap and then put protectors and clothes in. I often put a second 20” wheel and frame in and put heavy items like pedals and cranks into another bag to keep the weight down.
In the schedule for Unicon 22, Track Coasting is not listed, even though it is a required event. However, Track Coasting does appear on the registration page.
I will not be able to attend Unicon for the entire duration, and after spending around 200 hours practicing this skill, I would very much like to know when the Track Coasting event is scheduled.
I tried contacting the Unicon organizing staff several weeks ago using the contact form, but unfortunately I have not received a response. Does anyone know how to get in touch with the organizers through other channels (besides the contact form) to find out when the Track Coasting event will take place?
