thanks to anyone replys
or tell me what is easy then a unispin

Make sure you wear shinpads…THATS A MUST. I can do a 180 and 360 unispin but its hard to exlain. just jump and throw your legs out spin the unicycle and try to land your feet back or the cranks and pedals.

Kelly.

i landed my first unispin on the cranks like a year ago. after that i never even went for the pedals. im real scared to so i never really did em nemore. i dont know theres been threads on this im sure.

I’ve been trying to get the courage to try a uni spin as well. I will also be greatful for advice on uni spins.

Do you hold the seat with one or two hands, do you do them seat in or seat out, do you do them holding on the seat the whole time or do you let go midair?

Ps. Could Gilby transfer this thread into Rec?

I am really consistant at 180 unispins and im working on 360s now. When your learning it do it sif with 2 hands, later once you get better you can do that stuff and add more style but its harder. For a 180 get really good at no footers (it doesnt matter if you land on the cranks) then do a no footer and spin it. People hold the seat differently for the spin, for 180s i hold my right hand on the handle and my left hand on the back bumber, I think most people keep their hands on the sides of the seat though. I think for anything over a 180 you have to hold the sides. I think a good way to learn it is just wear alot of pads and protective stuff because for me it was alot harder menally than physically. Once i got enough courage to go for it i learned it pretty fast. On more thing, I have found its easier to learn them on smaller wheels because when you start you probably arent too comfortable with extentions and you dont have to move your feet as much to clear the wheel (they are also lighter and easier to move around) I learned 180s on a 16" but now i can do them as easily on a 24" muni.

I donno who told you that unispinning is easier than wheelwalking…I personally think wheelwalking is way easier.

I think wheel walking is harder to learn than 180 unispins. Maybe i learned wheel walking slow or unispins fast but i put alot more time into learning wheel walking than unispins. With ww its like learning to ride again and you start by falling over then gradually you go farther and farther until you can do it forever. For me, not too long after i landed my first unispin i could get them pretty often. Even now i think doing a unispin requires alot less balance than wheel walking. Its probably different for different people. Unispins over 180 are alot harder though.

I don’t really think the unispin is easier than ww. It’s on level 10 for a reason. Sure, it probably would be more appropriate on level 8, but it’s still more difficult than ww. The exception is probably for trials riders who spend more time hopping than riding, and also have their seats way too low to ww properly. Personally, I am more comfortable with coasting than with unispins.
