UK Unicon Ferry advice or flights

If flying from Gatwick one option is http://www.sterling.dk/flight

How many uni’s in a suitcase - depends on wheel size

Note Sterling’s bike charge, which you may wish to try and avoid.

Confirmed now that I will be flying, and thanks for that link £9 for the return flight! :astonished: the price could make it worth flying alone and not getting a flight with other riders on… but then again… not flown on my own before! hmm…

am flying from gtwick on friday wth sterling on flight that gets to cph 17:00 ish.

I’ve booked! Going from Gatwick on 25th and back on 5th with Sterling. Looking forward to it!! I guess the next stage is to let the unicon lot know which flight I’m coming in on so they can stick me in a group to be escorted to the venue, anyone else sorted this yet?

Sarah - are you Sarah.Miller signed on with a different name? There’s only one Sarah registered from the UK, so I’m guessing it must be you! Not that I have stalking tendencies… just curious!

anyone have an estimate or any info on how long it will take to get from the airport to the Unicon site and vise versa. i need to book a bloody flight!!! im so baddd

It takes about 25 minutes whit the metro to a station that is under 1 km from UNICON. from there you can walk/ride ore take a train in 2 minutes and walk 200 meters! metro goes every 4 minute train leaves every 5-10 minutes.! really easy…

See you there…

Cheers.

If you email Connie the details once you’ve booked your flight they arrange to have someone guide groups of people arriving from the airport to the venue, so you shouldnt have to worry about that.

Have a look at Ryan air, and Sterling flights, they don’t seem to be too expensive, you just have to see if they fly from an airport near you, then just get on a book it!!

this is gonna be an awesome Unicon it all seems so convienient, i wanna go clubbing in Copenhagen on one of the nights i bet its mad thanks for all your help both of you

this is the page on airport esorts. apparently they work in groups of five, so we need 2 others if we want to use that service Rob and Brendan.

Hi, this isn’t exactly relevant but I didn’t want to start a new thread.

Any tips on travel insurance for unicon? I’m not going as a competitor but will still be riding lots, trouble is, I’m guessing unicycling is classed as ‘unusual or hazardous’ which many places state that they don’t cover …

Anyone know anywhere good to get it and if any extras are needed?

Cheers, see you soon!

If you are CTC member you have 3rd party cover in europe including unicycling, if NOT competing.
I have travel insurance with world wide travel insurance, which includes unicycling recreational AND competitive. you will need to phone them and mention unicycling very specificly rather than use web for this tho.
tel 0870 112 8100 They cover all sorts of sports, competitive unicycling seems to be a rate 3 activity. Non competive you may be able to get down to a rate 2 like mountain biking. Or may be lower.

i’m using worldwide for the second time this year, covering me for competetive mountain unicycling. Sorted it all out via email.

Brilliant thanks, I couldn’t find the right information on the website for an activity like unicycling. Will check that out tomorrow once I’m less tired/intoxicated.

By the way, what’s CTC?

Cheers.

I arranged ‘competitive unicycling’ cover for x days, including RTL. However they were happy for me to ride abroad non-competitively in other countries without any additional premium.

I suppose the more interesting question, has anyone made a claim against this policy (even non-unicycle related) did they settle easily? Currently all I know is they are friendly when setting up policies, hopefully this will be the same if I’m forced to claim, although I’d prefer not to find out!

For lobster I also had medical only cover with http://www.policydirect.co.uk/bcf/bcfquote.htm for ‘unicycle racing’, not that I was paranoid about North America medical costs  .
