UDC 32 titan to night fox

I picked up a second hand, older version of the nightfox frame in like new condition. I ordered some bearing spacers and swapped the wheel from my UDC titan 32 into the night fox frame. The wheel has a cotterless hub so spacers where needed. Also I added shims and added a Kris Holme touring bar. The conversion was a success. A wheel build isis hub, disc brake are in the future plans.

Looks neat!

Thanks

Indeed the nightfox frame looks great- it is not the standard.
In the long run with short cranks or for street conformity a break might be useful. I have shown how it is posdible to mount a break easily when you shrunk the wheel, like I did:

Just a conventional brake, 2 metal plates and some screws.

Do you ride the Look Geo City Grip Pedal on your Uni? A brake is really important on that big wheel if you go ,in the future, faster and faster.

I plan to rebuild the wheel with an isis disc brake hub. I have owned and I have been riding my 32 UDC for many years, I installed a side pull bmx brake on it which I actually prefer to the disc. The side pull is easier to modulate for me . I have brakes on all of my unicycles I really don’t use them much in fact I may use the disc brake off of my 24 Oracle for the night fox.

Yes I ride the look pedals on all of my unicycles, they are awesome. They have the right amount of grip , you can reposition your feet easily and they look great.

Sorry night fox fans, I just couldn’t do the neon green so a respray was in order. My air saddle cover with the blue insert really clashed against the green. I gave it a shot riding without the air cover but I definitely felt the difference.

You should‘ve resprayed the air saddle cover that blue is far worse than the neon green
Apart from this, that uni looks very sleek. :+1:

I wish they offered the air cover in other colors but they only come in the blue and black combo. All black would probably be the best solution to match with all frame colors.

did you use sand paper to remove the green paint before spraying it silver, or did you just spray on top of it. I will get my spray paint tomorrow. Can’t wait to start on it.

I sand blasted it to get in the nooks and crannies and sanded.with 400 then 1000 grit The green is powder coat so it doesn’t want to come off. I wasn’t trying to strip it I was just trying to get some tooth for the new paint to stick. Two coats of automotive primer and two coats of rustolium spray paint. I road it today after reassembly, it was fun and I was glad to have my air saddle cover back on.

The next step is making a non permanent brake mount for my side pull brake, and swap my 150’ s for 125’s. I have design in mind for the mount that will not damage the frame. Eventually I’m going to rebuild the wheel with a disc brake isis hub.
