Hey guys I’m about to get my first trials uni and trying to decide on pedal type. I use 5-10 shoes (super grippy) and I’m wondering if a pedal with pins may be overkill.
What do you trials guys use?
Thanks!

I also wear the 5 10 Shoes and they worked perfct with the pedal from Odyssey Twisted Plastic Pedals. I’m really happy with this Choice.
pedalled pins might not be the smartest on trials uni’s, but I have them. I wear shoes with hard and nearly flat soles, so the pins are very welcome. Though peeps tend to UPD more from trials uni and the chance of pedalbite is much bigger.
I am not into practicing tricks so much, so for me it doesn’t matter.
If you do trials, you want very grippy pedals. I’m not sure what the current favorite for trials riders is, but you definitely want metal pins.
For flat and street, the amount of grip is debatable, there most people only use plastic pins and some will even file them down to reduce grip (helps with flip tricks and sliding the foot on and of the pedal).
ah yes good one. What we did last Sunday in the workshop were street tricks. Nothing about hopping on top of boxes/pellets
