Too Hot

Well, this sucks.

I enjoy food that is mild to medium in spicieness. I see no need for people to order the hottest things to show that they can eat hot things (and most likely not enjoy it…the taste, not the feeling that they impressed the others but their order)

But, I do enjoy things like pickled banana peppers, in that kind of spice range.

So I thought it would be great to cut up an orange pepper (it looked like a banana pepper, but in the peppers part of the grocery store)

This was clearly not a banana pepper as it made the salad a little too hot to be enjoyable. (for the miniscule amount actually in there)

Why would I post something like this?

At the same time the aftertaste mouth burn started, came the realization that I must have scratched my ears with the ‘pepper cutting hand’ because the same burning feeling in my mouth (which is bearable) now feels like it’s pouring out of my ears (which is not so bearable).

What did I do to solve this problem? Wiped under my nose while scratching my face.

The mouth pain has subsided, but my ears and nose are burning :frowning:

really, all I have to say is,
sucks to be you! HAHAHAH!!

That’s just too funny for words. I wish I had have been there to see that. Did mrs. Sofa laugh at you?

Life is like eating a hot pepper. What you do today may burn your ass tomorrow.

She couldn’t really laugh at me, as I had plenty of time to heal before she came home from work

I ate an entire habanero pepper on my radio show once, as did my two cohosts. it was an absolutly halarious show. We taped it of course.

Id do it again.

What kind of radio show would that be?

Next up, live on the radio, an art display!

‘Ooh, this one is really pretty, listeners’

I’ve eaten 3 Guatemalan Insanity peppers at a Chili cook-off.

I eat those round cut ones that come on nachos, those are good… made me a man!

The fun was mostly in hearing us express our pain vocally.

Sofa just be glad you didn’t have any groin itch instead

I’m just glad (and shocked) I kept my fingers out of my eyes

Which would feel an awful like the time I volunteered to be pepper sprayed. That hurts, let me tell ya!

I like hot foods. I like food that makes me sweat and cry. But when I am done eating it I want the heat to go away and I don’t want to feel it a second time the next morning.

Out here there is Dixies BBQ, he has a sauce called The Man, and man is it hot. Just a touch will permeate the entire sandwich. Any more and you’ve wrecked your lunch.

Dixies & Porters are also located in our professional stadiums. The Man is just sitting there in a jar on the counter. I see people ladle it on like its ketchup and pity their poor mouth with the first bite.

We were sitting in the full sun behind center field a Mariner’s game, eating Dixies with The Man. I wiped some sweat from temple and got a bit in my eye. I was blurry for more than a minute.

Be careful if someone offers to let you “Meet The Man”.

still curious to hear what kind of radio show u do

oh, yeah, sorry. Our show is 8-10 PM some night, on WTSC 91.1 FM, THE SORCE!

We have a college raido station here that broadcasts to St Laurence County in up state NY, and parts of Canada. You can listen online at radio.clarkson.edu, but that might not be working right now.

Its mostly myself any my roomate, we play alot of techno, punk, ska, and hardcore, and sometimes do some kind of stunt on the air. Besides the two of us we get calls from the homestarrunner.com crew, carl malone, and other exciting people. Oh, and we have a segment caled Jay’s awesome corner, where jay calls up and tells about one awesome thing that we’ve done recently.

Oy, Sofa. You have my sympathies.

A few months ago my daughter and I were making empanadas. I gave her the job of chopping the jalepenos, but forgot to tell her to wash her hands immediately after. She rubbed her eyes and was not a happy camper.
