Today I... (brag thread)

Today I FINALLY finished getting my new wheel together after running into so many problems.

Here it is: Custom Koxx-One Unicycles - #326 by Brian_O

That is a pretty sweet uni Brian. A new street setup? What kind of frame will you be putting on it?

Isaac

Today I rode up a traffic cone on it’s side, tipping it upright. I fell off mid tip but it’s a great idea for a trick. Has anyone seen it done before?

Yeah its my new street wheel, it feels amazing. Its so smooth, the rim is as wide as a trials rim and the tire folds less than a CC. The tire also easily has as much air volume as a trials tire but it weighs roughly HALF that of a trials tire. I’m really liking the straight cranks too. This wheel flips and spins so fast.

I’ll be using my Nimbus II frame but its being powder coated right now so I’m using my round crown nimbus trials frame. I’m using Twisted PCs for pedals and will probably share my thomson/SW Base between this and my trials uni depending on which I’m riding.

Today I tried a high drop at the local trail and proceeded to fall smack on my backside! :astonished: I got right back up, walked over to a ledge that was even HIGHER and dropped it successfully!

Brag #2: My riding buddy John (vivalargo) was there with me and this was one of his first full muni rides in about 4 months since suffering a pretty bad knee injury..which is still not quite back to normal. He did the same 6-ish foot drop, and did it better than me! Props JL! :sunglasses:

today i rolling hopped up 4 stairs

awesome

Nice 4 stair, I’m thinking about trying one too soon.

I landed my first seat wrap today after only about 20 minutes of practice.

re-posted from the custom Koxx thread

I just received a new Echo 47mm drilled rear 26" trial rim and Echo 160mm cranks as well as a new Monty Eagle Claw from HB trials. I also got a new Nimbus ISIS hub for my 26" MUni and some 114mm cranks for my 36er from UDC.

I am very impressed with the look of the Echo rim and cranks, man those are nice looking cranks pieces of art really.

The top wheel-builder in the city is gone till monday, I am going to see if he wants to build up the new wheel for me.

Looking forward to a tire that won’t fold and cranks that won’t bend.

post pictures when you can, I’d like to see this work of art.

I don’t have a camera but once it is built up I will try to get a friend to take a few pics for me.

The pictures on the HBtrials site almost do them justice.

I just landed a backflip (first try!), doubleflip, and in-in trey(well… I fell after half a rev because I slid out) in 5 inches of new snow! I have plastic pedals too, so it was extra slippery.

treadly…

I landed 2 double flips in a row while “walking” my dog around the neighborhood.

I doubleflipped a 1 set twice in a row with a double on flat right after that so 3 in a row! Then I went and doubleflipped a 2 set!!!

yesterday i rolling hoped up the equalivent of 5 pallets high, but it was a tabel i just didnt feel like moving my pallets so i measured and compared, anyway it was awsome i will make a video of it soon. i want to do 6 like in (I think it was) defect that is my goal.

I finally made it to the post boxes and back! I only fell off twice on the way there and back ~half a mile round trip. Still can’t make my body do exactly what the brain would like it to do as far as mounting with a different leg or turning 100% of the time.

@surfer1024: Congratulation! Good Job!

If my back is healed I’ll follow you. I came really close to doubles at GMTW.

For me flipping with longer cranks is easyer but the riding and all the tricks feel much smoother with 125mm-cranks.

btw: I landed my first crappy outside roll yesterday.

i rode 2 miles through the rain, on my torker unistar dx 24" in 20 degree weather. i am soaked.
