Ti Nimbus?

I like the frame design.

I think Roger said that was for the frame only. I would probably pay that for a 36" frame, but probably not for a 20" :stuck_out_tongue:

That is pricy. Necessary though I bet. I guess it depends what type of riding you prefer. When I get a job and if it became availble in NZ I would definiately buy this

The price is still NOT announced…

The price was for the prototype. The frame will cost less than that.

It was a 25,4 seatpost.

The Ti-Pedals from Koxx are not worth it. You can get them on Ebay for 80 bucks sometimes.

Thanks, I will ask Roger. Let’s hope for the best!

before this Roger had it with lighter Al cranks and plastic pedals, which he claimed to come out at 3.9kg. There was some talk of putting the DOB mag rim on it, but having seen how Joe went through them it was decided this would be a compromise. Funny I noticed the Ti on the back cover of uni and wondered if anyone else had spotted it.

You can get the Wellgo Mg’s with a Ti axle for half the price, but yeah the rest would be great, especially since if you are short you could cut the post rediculously low.

Can I have it? You can consider it an early Christmas present:D

I know, but saying Try All Ti-nesiums is easier than saying Wellgo Mg1’s with a Ti spindle from ebay.

I am glad you all like the frame/unicycle.

The frame is based on the Nimbus Street, but with some changes. It is narrower and lower. It is made from oval tubing and has a knurled oval crown! The reinforcing is the same as the Nimbus X so there should be no strength or bending problems.

Cost… I got an indication today and it may not be as bad as I initially thought, but lets see.

Will there be a freestyle version… yes. With different seat tube lengths.

Delivery… don’t know. I signed the final drawings off today, I have taken on a few comments that were made (chamfered corners and Ti bolts). The material has been on order for over a month now but Ti takes soooooo long to get sorted compared with normal frames. There is a chance that they will be available before Christmas, but it really is an outside chance only.

Roger

Thanks Roger for all the info.

You say that the crown is narrower than the Street Nimbus X, how does it compare to the Freestyle Nimbus frame?
I found the freestyle Nimbus X frame a little too narrow and not that ideal for standup tricks. It was no match for the Siegmono freestyle frame.
At unicon it looked as if the Ti-frame is wider than the older freestyle frame, seemed to be just perfect. The knurled oval tubing also looks like a great improvement.

I assume the freestyle version will be available with 40 cm seat tube length (probably the most common length for freestyle longnecks, at least for adults)?

Anyway, I applaud you for pushing the envelope with this unicycle.

Now if there could be some al (or ti) 90mm ISIS-cranks to go with this… :stuck_out_tongue:

Bump!

Any news on this. I’m thinking of postponing my dream trials build to get one. Please tell me they will exist.

As far I know UDC UK and I think that also US already have them, but not online… very soon prices will be posted I think

I think the Nimbus Ti frame looks pretty sweet. I think Nimbus should go to 27.2 seatpost size, because on the market, there is are a lot more 27.2 seatposts available.

I personally would like to see a KH Ti frame. I would love to have one on my ti hub

The price would probably be quite expensive, but just the weight, design, strength, and everything, it would be an incredible piece of art.

I’m with you! On a KH I would puts lots of money, but the Nimbus crown looks painful for flat…

For a freestyle uni I would buy it  but I don’t ride freestyle :s

@ at UDC Australia

We have some frames at UDC Australia but we have to figure out the retail price before we put them on the site. They feel like lifting a feather and we can have them built with KH Ti hubs, but unfortunately, they will be expensive compared to other frames.
Onebyone

how expensive is expensive?

1500 Pounds…

That was the prototype… the production one will run around 450€

Edit: Oh, Marco was faster.

Thanks for the info. I guess the difference to the prototype cost is just the devaluation of the pound.
