Ti Nimbus?

So I come back home from a long vacation to find my Uni Mag issue 5 waiting for me. I still need to read it, but I saw the add on the inside of the back page for a Titanium Nimbus (just the frame is Ti I’m assuming from the picture). Weight is supposedly 3.9kg, which is pretty much freaking ammmmmazng. I looked for a thread about it but didn’t find one. Anyone care to shed any light on the subject?

It’s Rodger Davies’ from UDC UK and I have no clue if he is going to make it available there or it’s just a custom job. If I remember correctly, and if the one in the picture is the same as the one he had at UNICON, then the wheelset is KH and not Nimbus.

EDIT: I justed looked at my mag and it is the Nimbus wheelset, even though the KH wheelset would be lighter. I wonder if just the frame will be available too?

IT’S THE BEST UNI EVER!

I tryied it at UNICON… It’s awesome! The frame is really titanium…

I don’t like the frame design but it still light and strong. In UNICON it was with tensile cranks and KH Ti Hub I think…

This uni is my dream

yeah, I’m not sure what cranks, but it was a KH wheelset with his new Ti hub

Tasty.

And very expensive. I think Roger mentioned something like 1000GBP

Im sure if this product became commercial, even with a nimbus wheelset, many people would be willing to pay the price for it.

the hub was not kh Ti, but if it were you could put stronger cranks on and still be below 4k though.

I lifted it, it’s stupidly light.

The wide frame looks also perfect for freestyle. I wonder if they will offer such a version (not sure if the tire clearance of the trial-version would be compatible with a freestyle wheelset). I would definitely be willing to spend several hundred Euros on such a frame (cause all other freestyle frames now in the market suck in some way).

Anyone have pics?

Hey Dave, I’m pretty sure it was the KH hub in there, it was definitely a Ti hub and I doubt there would be a point in having another different Ti hub manufactured when the KH is already being produced.

Also originally he had the Nimbus cranks on it, then I believe someone bent one of them so he put the Tensiles on it.

The thing was pretty nice but the crown was a bit ugly.

The bearing caps were amazing though, fully machined, The only bearing caps I have seen that are nicer are the KH ones.

I would really like a Ti hub. To bad I dont think I can afford it. Does it cost like $450 US?

when you compare this unicycle to another its just stupidly light.

the set up at unicon was a kh wheelset with a prototype kh ti hub so the hub diddent say it was a kh.

then marco changed the qu-ax freestyle isis cranks with his tensiles because hi broke his own unicycle and roger let him borrow the nimbus ti

I rode the uni for the highjump comp with my own cranks and pedals.

Specs:
KH Ti hub
Nimbus Ti frame (prototype)
single bolt seatclamp
alu seatpost
KH 07 rim
Maxxis tire
Tensile cranks
Quax magnesium pedals
KH seat with CF base

Weight was about 4,1 till 4,2 i think.

The price is not announced yet. 1500 Pound was what Rogers prototype costs.
As far as i know there will also be a freestyle version of the frame, but you should ask Roger about that.

It was the sweetest uni i ever rode for trials (and the lightest).

So its like a Nimbus X street frame but in Ti?

yes

Was the seat tube 25.4mm or 22.2mm?

Sick uni. Would be even better with Scott Wallis setup and a thompson masterpiece and try all ti-nesium pedals. Could probably be down to 3.8kg or so

Are the previous prices for the whole unicycle or for the frame? Will the frame be sold seperatly (and for how much)?
