The Matrix-Original Book?

I love science fiction and would like to read the book that inspired the Matrix trilogy, but alas, I have no video player so I cannot watch the credits of the first movie and find out if such a book even exists. Does anyone know the source of inspiration for this series? carjug

Re: The Matrix-Original Book?

The Internet Movie Database does not have an original literary source for The Matrix as it does for, say, Blade Runner (see bottom of this page). So it seems that you may have to limit yourself to any writings by the screenwriters of this film to get your fix.

If your interested in the Philosophical side of the matrix concider Anarchy, State, and Utopia by Robert Nozick

yes there is a book/author that inspired the Matrix, i remember my business studies teacher telling me to read it, as his stuff is always worth a read, i cant rememebr the name of the guy buts its probably the author that checkernuts last posted about. I will check at school tomorrow

I typed Nozick’s name and a few other good words into Google and it took me straight to the Source. There is more stuff out there about the Matrix than I ever dreamed. I think the book to read is Neuromancer, available in the Science Fiction department of my Local Public Library, I’m going to check it out. It won a boatload of awards, and should be fantastic.
I will check this forum again, this subject rivals Muni Choices. carjug. :@)}

Neuromancer is a classic

Yeah, read Neuromancer if you haven’t yet. It isn’t The Matrix, but is is one that you want to be able to say that you have read.
