I finally got some pix up of my new Hunter with a 24x3 Fireball on it. I
tried to show how good that uni looks with that big tire, and give an idea
of the sheer size of the tire. It’s difficult to do with pictures. One
notices the width of the tire most while riding, when looking down. Small
obstacles disappear quickly and are hardly felt.
I did ride it for a bit with the 3" Gazz that came on it, and Rhysling
was right. Most things that are in your way, they become yo’ bitch. I’ll
probably leave the Fireball on the Hunter and build a muni to put the Gazz
on.
It looks real nice. Well, the miyata seat appears to be the sea-green one, which is unfortunate. Still, it looks nice. So, thats one heck of a street unicycle!
I want to go with a tire that is still made, if I can, so I will probably go with the irc duro metro 2.0. Does anybody else have experience with that tire?
I will be getting the semcycle frame, but my that hunter looks nice in that shade of blue (my off-road is a red hunter, but I think I like the blue better).
Hey Johnny B your Uni looks awesome! Where did you find the Fireball? I have been looking for one (I know they don’t make them any more) but do you know of anyone with a secrete stash who would be willing to part with one?? just checking… once again nice ride man!

There have been several WAY over the MSRP Fireball’s on E-Bay. I indirectly found mine on E-Bay- I wrote to every vendor who fenced GT stuff and asked if they had any kicking around. The tire was $27 stock, I payed $45. They’ve been going for as much as $85.
GT’s site is still up- but the Dealer finder feature is no longer working- if it was, you could start calling all the old dealers, hoping for a score. Try doing a web search for GT products and contact some of the old vendors.
I think my price would be too high to consider: Who would really wana part with a Profile Hub and Crank set for a li’ ole’ tyre? Ahhh, such a buetyfull tyre…

It’s my urban assault uni.
I have an IRC Metro Duro 1.5 on my 26". Great tire, and apparently it’s
made thick to deal with road hazards on city streets. The 2.0 should work
well for you.
Glad you like the blue. I was thinking it was going to be a darker
shade, but I like it. The green seat was all that was available when I
bought it, but I do have a blue one coming whenever they get here. I’ll
stick my blue Semcycle Deluxe seat on there and get some pix of it to see
how it looks.

Glad you like it.
I bought it from a guy who had some, but he is out of them. Looks like
the only choice now is the expensive auctions on ebay. Yuck. I hope
someone starts making that tire again. It’s too cool.
