Adagio for Strings is one of my favorite short classical pieces, but it always reminds me of funerals.
Right now I’m listening to Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor (BWV 582). It’s my favorite Bach organ piece.
For contemporary songs my favorite would probably be Pink Floyd “The Wall”. I consider the entire two discs to be one long song with separate movements.
“One” by metallica is also up there.
So is “i dont like mondays” by the boomtown rats.
and anything by miles davis.
lol and “senorita” by justin timberlake
“tribute” by the d is also good but in a different way. not so much musically. its in the same sort of league as “always look on the bright side of life” by monty python - more about the lyrics.
As you can see i have pretty eclectic taste in music!
WHAT!? Mozart was gifted and everone digs/dug him but I could come up with the same stuff he did. If you want some real grooving classical, check out;Igor Stravinsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, Philip Glass, Bach, Lenord Bernstein, Edgar Varese and Frank Zappa just to name a few. Or at least that’s what I think…
Naming the ‘best song ever’ is a bit beyond me so I’ll just go with my personal favourite. It changes pretty often but right now it’s ‘Cold Water’ by Tom Waits.
The classical period, including the years you cite, is characterized by the style known as classical music. However, classical music as a general term to embrace other periods including baroque, romantic, and modern, as well as forms including orchestral, operatic, and chamber is well established and accepted.
