Suzue hubs in Australia?

Anyone got any pointers on how one might go about getting a small quantity of Suzue hubs in Australia? It seems that Miyata “use” them but I can’t seem to find any distributors in Australia. I have spoken to www.juggleart.com and they are keen to get some into stock if they can source them…

I have ordered one from unicycle.com but as yet I have not received it [shipped on march 7th!] I assume lost [not john or Amy’s fault] and at $100AUS shipped…

It is extremely frustrating to be outside the US/UK and to not have a “direct line” to the unicycle.com franchise.

I would love to have a unicycle.com.au! Juggleart are our best bet at the moment but they need a bit of a push to get going… anyway blah blah blah…

I’m trying to get a bit proactive here as I have had my frame sitting in limbo waiting for a hub…

My savage 24inch is still fine but I can’t wait to try a 26X3 tire:D

The lead I’m trying to follow is that Suzue also make track hubs - I’ve checked with a few track bike specialists and they say that the “Suzue guy” hasn’t been around in years!

Any hints?

richard.

ask your telephone operater for a country code for the United States of America and dail it,then dail 1-800-unicycle.that sould work for a better “direct line” as you say

make sure to dail at 3 in the morning because of your time zone

Re: bonehead

I really meant it in a more metaphorical kind of way… “direct line” as in “stuff doesn’t take ages to arrive, at huge prices [exchange rates can’t be helped i know] and i can call toll-free to iron out any problems if and when they occur” kind of like that i suppose.

I don’t buy a lot of stuff on line, but when I do it’s usually because there is no “local” option. The hassle if things go astray is just not worth it.

Try Wayne van Wijk (go to www.jester.com.au for his contact details). Last
time I spoke he had a couple of surplus (I think).

Wayne’s based in Brisbane and is President of the Australian Unicycling
Society.

PS I ended up with a pair of 48 hole Suzue hubs I sourced from
unicycle.com (before I spoke to Wayne about hubs) - I weigh so much I need
my muni to be bullet proof

Re: Suzue hubs in Australia?

I tried to source a suzue hub locally (sydney) and wound up buying it from
unicycle.com. I actually spoke to them and they did a fantastic job.
Recieved it in a week.

Well, the “country” code for USA+Canada+Caribbean is +1.
You often can’t reach “800” type numbers from outside the
coverage area at all though.
