Here is a bit of unicycling info which was on a trivia mailing lists which
I receive.
In 1968, Steve McPeak traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles on a unicycle. The
trip took him six weeks, but he planned for the long bike journey–he brought an
extra tire and a spare heinie.

I could use a detachable heinie. Among other things.
I don’t know where I read it, maybe an old USA Newsletter, but on this ride
Steve did much of the pedaling on a 13 footer. Also, on one day of this ride, he
set what may be a standing record for the most miles ever ridden in a 24 hour
period on a unicycle, 186 miles. This was on a standard I believe. The next day,
I think both heinies were out of action.

Has anybody ever thought of using an ‘air cushion heinie’? They could be made in
much the same way as an air seat.
Step 1 - remove heinie cover Step 2 - take a small inner tube and a bike pump
Step 3 - … … … … …

someone could challenge McPeaks record? Date is Sept 16th 2000. Info at iaultra@netins.net. Might be fun to have a contingent of unis show up with
headlights and gear (and replaceable heinies.)

Monday is an awful way to spend 1/7th of your life.
186 miles in a day? Nah, I’ll pass on that. That’s bad enough on a bike. You’d
probably go through a whole 6-pack of heinies if you tried riding that far in a
day on a unicycle.
