something crazy for the end of the season

exactly two years later (4th of oct.) we try it again! unfortunately Marc is in the states and valentin in the swiss army…, but luckily David Weichenberger joins me. we will spend the night again on the top and are allowed to take the first cable car at 7.35 in the morning (for staff only) to the other side up. afterwards we try to ride all day long and make more than 10’000 meters of downhill on all different single trails

Cool! Good luck and happy riding to both of you. Take pictures.

good luck

Super cool, cant wait to see the pics.

Awesome! I knew that when you suggested this at Gricha you were going to go for it! I just wish I could be there to go for it with you!!!

Now it’s “official”: KH Team rider David Weichenberger and Triton Teamrider Markus Büchel did 9’600 meters of downhill on one wheel in 12 hours on about 90% singletracks only (all different ones). It was real hard and the tracks have been technical until the end (even David hat to walk little sections in between) we had no rain, no hikers on the trails, no injury and no technical defect!
We started at 5:20 am on the Jakobshorn, where we climbed first the Jatzhorn. On the Jatzhorn we started at 5:45 am the downhills! We did 8 rides with 4 different cable cars.

We didn’t reach the goal of 10’000 meters but like this we have a reason to do it again
we took almost no pics or footage, because we had to hurry up to keep the timetable.
it was a fantastic adventure for both of us!

we almost had no problems, at the second last ride a cramp started in my right leg, but it was gone after the cablecar ride, so the last ride worked very well again and also my right knee hurts a little bit, but i’m also an old fart compared to david  …and yes walking downstairs is a bit of a pain!

Turtle and David! Congratulations once more.
It was great to follow the photos and posts on fb all day yesterday.
Do you know what was the final distance?

thanks!

we rode 80 km of distance

What a great day, and a super achievement! Can you supply a link to those facebook photos? I’m too lazy to search.

hey vookash, that’s great, thanks a lot!

Great job :sunglasses:
Next year you can do the 10.000 and then in a shorter time.
So, there is no need to stop after 9.600

Ohhhh. we all was waiting for some epic pics :o

Maybe a lack of ISO that gave you cramps
Hm… Turtle need almost 9.600m downhill to become tired :astonished:

sorry about the pics!

@ charly: i had iso-food and also magnesium, luckily it was not to bad it just started a bit

Amazing, fantastic, beautiful, GREAT EFFORT!
