Took some video clips on a whim during yesterday’s practice session… and then spent all evening editing it together haha. Nothing too fancy - I’ve mostly been focusing on basic riding technique and endurance; being able to ride around without tearing up my legs or too many UPDs. I’ve come a long way, but def still have plenty of room for improvement. Occasionally I can get some revs without leg contact, but mostly only if I “sprint” which wears me out pretty quickly.
I‘m just wondering… is riding an ultimate wheel very different from riding a uni while dragging the seat? I realise from your video that the pedals are much closer to each other than on a uni (less Q factor). I guess this helps a bit, while the narrow tire prolly makes it more difficult.
yeah uw is definitely different, and i’m pretty sure easier, due to the q factor difference.
since learning uw I’ve learned seat in front and am working towards drag seat. it feels like slower going but then I’m not sure I’m putting in as much dedicated time towards it as uw.
That is funny! I am currently practicing SIF, and will proceed to dragging the seat behind, and then to ultimate wheel when I next time encounter one randomly.
I can seat in front, though I‘m not very good at it and I tire quickly. Seat drag is kinda tempting while the urge to learn to ride the ultimate wheel isn‘t overwhelming.
I have tried UW a couple of times but couldn’t even start pedaling. After trying SIF I start to get the idea of how to get started. I am still not sure if I could truly commit to an attempt though. I expect it to go somewhat like this https://youtube.com/shorts/advI5-H5mZQ?si=PLuoIupP17kGhaoX
